Stayed four nights here for my first time in SF. Ideal hotel if you just want a good basic base to stay at to do some sightseeing. The lcoation is very central, only a few mins from Union Sq. Rooms are basic but functional and comfy. There's no restaurant/breakfast but that's not an issue in central SF as you can... More

Touchstone is not only conveniently located, it is 24/7 strived to providing great customer service. The staff is a bunch of friendly people, and willing to make the most of your stay in this stunning city. I stayed at this hotel because my friends said I could afford all of this at a reasonable price, and they were right.

I was surprised about this hotel. I was bracing myself for a you-get-what-you-pay-for scenario but I was impressed by the cleanliness, the amount of space in the room, and the decor. Sure, the towels were scratchy, the sheets a bit thin, and the bed not the most comfortable, but the service was great and the room was clean. The location... More

San Francisco is a beautiful city but hotels are expensive. I found Touchstone to be the most reasonable priced one. It is very central close to the Union Square.
The hotel is clean, comfortable bed, reasonable size room. The receptionists were friendly. I missed having a kettle. Room Tip: My room was on the 3rd floor facing Geary, noise didn't... More

Stayed here 3 nights for a business trip. Room was adequate, but uncomfortable bed and very noisy at night (we had a room by the back alley and heard noisy trash trucks). Positives are the central location and friendly staff. Overall, wouldn't recommend because sleep was so hard to come by!

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Rooms basic but clean and warm . Our room was looking out into alley beside hotel where 3 or 4 homeless junkies slept. Constant noise all night. But this has nothing to do with hotel. Maybe just bring some ear plugs. Very good location but maybe a tad pricey for what you get. Paid almost... More

This hotel looks seedy outside and does not even have a real lobby. If there are 3 or more people in your party checking in, it's gonna be really crowded at the check-in area. The elevator can comfortably fit 3 people without luggage or 1 overweight person with 1 bag. Yes, it's that's cramped inside the elevator. Just take the... More

Everybody told me that San Francisco is fantastic city to visit but none told me the hotel there are so expensive. As a budget traveler, I spent sometimes shopping around and finally I found the reasonable priced one. It's just off from Union Square and 5 minutes walk from Powell . It's not boutique nor 5 stars but it's clean,... More

Outstanding desk staff, very friendly and courteous. Older hotel with small rooms. They've clearly made an attempt to update it in a clean and modern style, but rooms are very spartanly furnished and lighting is a bit discouraging. Bed was comfortable, but pillows were very thin. TV channels were limited, but you're not really in SF to watch tv. Very... More

We stayed here for one night to attend a conference in San Francisco. The location is excellent and it was only 0.7 miles to Moscone Center, where our conference was. I booked our room on booking.com and paid the price in full. Check in and out was easy: At check in, they asked for a credit card and ID (like... More

“My room was on the 3rd floor facing Geary, noise didn't bother me at all, also they have free ear plug.”

“My room was the one room on the floor that did not have an en suite bathroom. I was given a key to my own private shower and toilet directly across the hall. Took a bit getting used to. Shower was a stall shower and sort of claustrophobic. There was a sink in my room. If you are shy about crossing the hallway to use the bathroom (you have to remember to take your room key), check out whether the room has an en suite before you book.”
