Location was great, very close to the Fisherman Wharf and Pier 39, close to restaurants, stores, etc. Breakfast is simple but is complimentary, also complimentary wi-fi. Hotel is clean, a bit old, but with everything San Francisco have to offer, you wont spend a long time in the hotel, at least I didn't.

Beds were very soft. But everything clean. The shower was like having a camp shower. No pressure, low hanging head. Otherwise I can't complain. We weren't in the room for long other than sleeping, & the location is quiet, close enough to cafés, restaurants etc but far enough away from the bustle. I give it a great if you're on...

I had my wallet containing $700 stolen from my room. We also had a laptop, ipad and other valuables in the room, but they weren't touched - just the cash. The staff could not have been less interested when I reported it. The manager, who I eventually managed to get on the phone, was incredibly dismissive and accused me of...

Location is great, rest is average. Visit union st and chestnut st in the evenings and you will find all you need. Hotel is old and v tired, breakfast is simple, but you won't spend much time there as San Francisco has so much to offer. Didn't find it cheap but visited when a big conference was on so we...

Nice room and location was good. Felt safe, employees were helpful. They could add some more choices for the "Continental Breakfast" - like cereal or English muffins instead of just white or wheat bread for toast.

We spend five days in SF. For us the location was perfect. The room was clean and big. Great bed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room wa totally quiet. Maybe the breakfast wasn't that great. This hotel is in a good location and we never felt uncomfortable even late at night.

Pros: Great staff, very welcoming and nice. Good location. Bed is comfortable and clean, lots of pillows, cable tv and mini fridge. One of the cheapest places with private bathroom. Breakfast: is not foodie, just bread, butter, banana, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, tea, milk, juice, coffee. To me it's fine. Cons: Walls are paper thin. Room doesn't get dark with the...

If you're looking for a full service 3- 4- or 5-star hotel, look elsewhere. BUT... if you want to be near the tourist Wharf, residential Marina, or outdoors Marina Green or Crissy Field areas for a very reasonable price, Marina Inn is it. The Inn is somewhat dated, rooms not too large, and can be noisy on the Lombard Street...

Location is great and easy to access most things. Hotel is clean and quiet. Breakfast can be skipped but there are terrific cafes nearby. Staff is friendly and meets all basic needs. Bring your own soap and shampoo though.

The Marina Inn is a lovely spot for a brief stay; the views are very nice and if you want a stay away from the hustle-bustle this is it. If you are without a car, it is quite isolated. The breakfast was fine; the room was clean; an upgrade will be soon needed.

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
