Stayed 4 nights and enjoyed each one. Best fitness centre I’ve had the pleasure of using. 24hour coffee tea and filtered water was an unexpected treat. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Eclectic decor on the main floor was most interesting. Japanese garden was also lovely. A short walk to good restaurants and coffee bars. We would definitely book there again
I decided on this hotel because of many reasons such as location, rating, pet-friendly, etc. It was such a center of the activities I planned for this specific trip. Overall the hotel is in good ambience. Hotel staffs are very friendly and helpful. Lobby area is spacious and comfortable. Not expected but there were many restaurants with good reviews all walking distance from the hotel. The hotel parking was full at the time I checked in but we got to park the car in the public garage connected to the hotel. From now I will call this hotel as my home in SF.
Hotel Kabuki is amazing. I've been staying here for a long time, and both the hotel and the staff are wonderful. The bed, sheets, and pillows are top quality, and there's little to no street noise on the top floor. The buffet breakfast, awesome music, and world-class gym are impossible to beat.
If you like exploring Japantown, you will love staying here. The views from our room were breathtaking! The fitness room was the best I have experienced in a hotel! An espresso machine and water dispenser were wonderful touches. The decor was quirky and eclectic with a unique bee hive. A wonderful and memorable stay in San Francisco!
This hotel is beautiful inside. The lobby is stylish and inviting, the free coffee is quite tasty. :) Room was a good size with great amenities. I liked the size of the shower and the Jonathan Adler toiletries smelled lovely. The neighborhood where Kabuki is located is fun, safe, clean. When I was first looking to book, I was concerned it might be too far away from the action, but I was wrong. There are many great dining options nearby, it's right next to the Japanese mall, and just down the street from a really great shopping district. Plus, there's the beautiful Alta Plaza Park only 15 mins away by foot. If you want to go sightseeing, just hop in an Uber/Lyft. This hotel is worth it. I would recommend it to anyone coming to visit SF and would certainly book here again if I were to return. Because no option is absolutely perfect, there were a few minor cons to note: If your room faces Post Street, it can be noisy at night, but they do provide free earplugs in anticipation of this. :) I believe the hotel controls the thermostat, so I found my room would get warm at night (I had a really lovely corner king room w sliding glass doors rather than windows, so I didn't want to leave those open and invite potential winged visitors). My room did not have any drawers, so if you're the kind of person who likes to unpack, be warned that there may be just an open closet and a couple of small cupboards above the bar fridge.…
Very friendly staff. The location is very good with lots of restaurants and it is close to downtown as well. However it has Limited parking, no onsite restaurant, not worth the money paid. The room I stayed had a concrete wall facing up close. Not the best.
Only thing going for it is that it’s in the center of Japan town. They would not honor what they had promised when I called to make the reservation. If you make a bed and breakfast reservation as a world of hyatt member and made a reservation for more than 1 person they will tell you it only covers 1 person. I was told “show me where it says it includes 2 people, them we’ll honor it”. Terrible customer service. Parking is horrible. Be ready to park in the mall.
I had to travel to San Francisco for a business meeting and chose Hotel Kabuki because of it's location. I wanted a relatively quiet location away from the Union Square and Market Street mess that is San Francisco now. Pros: The hotel is located in Japantown which is a plus as far as walkable restaurants and stores. Lobby is nice, staff was friendly and efficient. The room was very clean. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Cons: The bathroom has a Noren (暖簾) half curtain which I get keeping with the Japanese theme but a full bathroom door would have been nice or even a full curtain. The bathroom toilet had a full door which was a good thing. I was traveling with my daughter and it was workable but not ideal. Walls seem thin as we could hear hallway noise and noise from the neighboring room. Windows are not soundproof. Even on the 11th floor, we could hear some street noise. I noticed they do provide earplugs in the bedside drawer. It's a very good hotel for a short stay in San Francisco. …
I think this is a great location for a mini-vacation. Shopping and plenty of dining all within walking distance. The amenities at the hotel are extensive, and although it is an older building it was well decorated and upkept.
Great customer service, nice piano bar, elegant decor and prime location! Definitely will be returning for another stay soon. Breakfast was a definite plus. The area offers many good restaurants and attractions.
