It was a comfortable stay of 9 nights in SF from 12-21 Aug 2016. The place was nicely furnished, coming across as comfy. The room I stayed in had enough space to not feel cramped in. Staff were professional and helpful. Great location, less than 1 min walking distance from Church station, and good eats around the area. A downside...

I was recommended to the Willows Bed and Breakfast by a gay friend who was local to SF. It did not disappoint. Though I was in a room facing the street, the traffic noise did not bother me, the sunlight streaming through the windows did! All the rooms I think share a bath, but this was not a problem as...

I knew I was in good hands when I received very quick confirmation for the dates that I wanted and this set the tone for a great stay. My room was scrupulously clean with a really comfortable bed and for people with worries about shared showers/toilets - don't! Both were always available when I wanted them and always very clean....

Clean room, friendly staff, impeccable all round. They serve the best continental breakfast around -- fresh fruit, quality granola, and great coffee. Ideally located on the line between the Mission and the Castro, near the Muni station. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in San Francisco!

We stayed in the Willows Bed and Breakfast Inn for a total of 11 days (a weekend away over the period) in April-May 2016. It suited us perfectly. We loved the conviviality of chatting with other guests over breakfast (great variety - lots of fruit, cereals, pastries, breads, yoghurts, etc), and, when we could, relaxing with our hosts and other...

Just got back from a week at The Willows over Easter weekend and can't wait to go back. I was initially unsure about the shared shower rooms but in reality they're not a problem and are kept scrupulously clean by the team. Breakfast is really good and it's good to meet other guests rather than just sitting in a hotel...

What a great B&B! We always try to stay in a B&B on our travels because they provide the most personable experiences. We were a little apprehensive about The Willows because the nightly rate for our room was so much less than we expected, and they only asked us to pay for the first night when we made our reservations....

Could not have been looked after better by all four inn keepers. Great breakfast, very interesting guests, and wonderful attention to detail. Bathrobes big, decent wine at 6 pm. Thanks in particular to Mike for history and Mark for story of his wedding.

The Willows Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful experience. It is close to all public transportation . The entire staff is warm and welcoming, always eager to provide useful information for an authentic San Francisco experience. The room was large and immaculate. The breakfast was healthy with its many choices. The sitting room provided nice opportunity to meet other guests.

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
