Where to start? The consierge service was outstanding. The room was lovely. The location of the Inn was just what we needed. It was out of the hustle & bustle of the Fisherman's Wharf, but close enough to walk wherever we wanted to be. Lots...More

The Washington Square Inn is a wonderful "home away from home". The service is impeccable, and everyone is very friendly. We travelled as a family and thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the Washington Square Inn to anyone visiting San Francisco.

Thank you so much for taking time to review our inn. We love that you consider us your home away from home.
Stayed here for July 4th weekend and was very pleased about the location. But for $291 a night the room was pretty small and bathroom was tiny. Breakfast is bare bones. Go to Mamas across the street. Overall we are happy and would stay here...More

The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style.
Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
