I have mixed feelings about this hotel. It's decor is English style which confuses me, Has the potential to be a beautiful boutique hotel. Room was small for family of four. Surprisingly quiet even the though the theatre is within hotel. Staff friendly. Room was musty and smelled of cigarettes so had to open windows in the middle of winter....

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW
Reviewed 30 January 2017

Stayed 2 nights with out of town guests for the long MLK weekend. Amazing location. Beautiful grounds. I was concerned the rooms would be small and dated based on previous reviews here, but no. Considering the location the room was not tiny. It had just enough space for luggage, a stroller, and a crib. Obviously we didn't spend our day...

We loved the location, as we had to be close to a conference. Comfort was just okay, service was kept at a minimum. Clean enough. At least a view of Union Square. Good enough to return to it, were it not for its high prices, which are the going rate downtown by Union Square, likely with more comfort than this...

The room was so small and our family could not fit in the room. It was so uncomfortable and straight out unacceptable for us. We had to move our luggage around to walk and make room to do anything. The A/C did not exist and windows were not working - and it was so hot and stuffy in the room....

The Kensington is a historical building in an excellent location near Union Square. This is a very nice area San Francisco. This hotel does not have AC which is typically not an issue in SF, but they do have the rare heat wave. The rooms are on the small side as are the bathrooms, but nicely furnished and the location...

The KPH is in a historical building with very old school elevators. My room was really dim as only warm lightings from a ceiling fan and table lamps. Perfect setting for a haunted movie but don't worry, I slept soundly during my 4 nights' stay with no disturbances at all. Pros was its location- union square, eating places, malls and...

Stayed here for a few days following a trek around Oregon and California. This was truly a lovely place to stay and the staff so friendly and nice to talk to. Felt at home. Lovely rooms and brilliant location for the town.

Great stay, I highly recommend this hotel. Checked in late night, and the front desk staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. The rooms are clean and the views are iconic. The only complaint is that there is no breakfast, but besides that the hotel is beautiful. Ameer at the front desk went out of his way to accommodate my wife...

The hotel is in a great location, right next to union square. We were lucky enough to get a good deal, considering the prices of hotels in SF. Our room was relatively small with an average view overlooking neighboring buildings, however the room's style was quaint and embracing the SF culture. The bed was extremely comfortable. We didn't find the...
