I regularly travel to San Francisco on business and always try to stay at this small, independent hotel. While the lobby is small and dated it is comfortable and the front desk is friendly and helpful. The hotel is approximately 5-6 blocks from Union Square, a high end shopping area. The hotel provides a convenient continental breakfast on each floor...

The hotel was located in a slightly rough area of downtown which was noisy throughout the night and into the early hours. But i suppose this is what you should accept given that you are in the heart of the city. The hotel was a bit dated and relatively expensive however the staff were very warm and welcoming. The rooms...

Once we stayed at the Andrews Hotel, we have continued to stay here any time we visit San Francisco. It is very conveniently located, walking distance to Union Square. Quaint, though admittedly small rooms. Good pastry and fruit served for breakfast on each floor. Extremely friendly, helpful staff.

The Andrews is in a great spot. The rooms are small, the building is old but the staff is outstanding. Close to all public transportation and more restaurants than you could imagine. Probably one of the most affordable in the city. If you want to step back in time, this is your place.

We spent two nights at The Andrews Hotel, and it was fine but not the greatest. It was clean and the location was quite central to the downtown core. The restaurant, Fino, is really good and guests of the hotel get a free glass of wine there during happy hour. However, the rooms are a little dated and it could...

Spent a long weekend in April Arrive Thursday evening, to the weirdness check in I have ever experienced. The lady at the desk, did not acknowledge us for several minutes, left the desk twice and returned and did not acknowledge that we were the only couple waiting in the lobby to check in. Room was clean, bed comfortable but our...

This was an old hotel originally built in early 1900's but it was nicely renovated. We were there in late March and we had a small 'queen' room - but it was a very adequate room for our 3-night stay. The small 'gated' elevator was a nice throwback to the past. The staff were very nice. It was in a...

I had a corner room with two windows - neither kept out the sound of a San Francisco evening so sleep wasn't super easy to come by. The bed was comfortable, everything was clean and neat, but if you don't like old buildings, don't come. If you do like old buildings and/or European style lodgings then you'll enjoy this place....

Had a 1 night/1 day layover in SF on the way home, picked the Andrews. Close to Union Square, loads of shops and bars around. Very friendly staff, seemless check-in and check-out. Vintage feel to it, cosy rooms. Continental breakfast on each floor included. They were happy to keep my bags for the day as my flight was not until...

This hotel is in a very old, creaky, poorly soundproofed building. You can hear noise from all adjoining rooms, above and next door. You can hear hallway noise and street noise as well making for a poor night's sleep. The room was quite small and in need of some updates. The staff is helpful and friendly, the complimentary glass of...
