After a long flight i was given a very welcoming and warm greeting. The room was very comfortable and had everything needed with several amenities. The bar downstairs has a good atmosphere, and the bluestone lane coffee shop at the entrance is amazing for coffee and breakfast.
Nice property. All you could ask for as a central point for playing tourist in San Francisco. Catch the cable car 1/2 block away, walk to restaurants and theater. Excellent staff and very clean, very unique accommodations.
In July I came into your Hotel with a friend to have a drink. Absolutely Loved the Decor and the Beat Generation!. Your wrap around Bar is Beautiful!. I had the pleasure of meeting Fungai, he was amazing and a True Gentleman!!. I visit San Francisco often, I would definitely stay at your Hotel.
We stayed July 27 & 28th, 2022. Loved everything about it! The customer service was top notch. The decor is fantastic, I want to move in permanently! The room was small but adequate, nicely arranged, plenty of room for two. The bed was super comfortable. The location was great, easy access to public transportation, restaurants, bars & Walgreens. The coffee shop attached was amazing, I need coffee before interacting with other humans, so I could roll out get some coffee and come back to the room. There were coffee makers in the room as well, but I was on vacation, no cooking of any sorts! When I return to SF I will be staying at Emblem.
My daughter and I stayed at Hotel Emblem a few months ago and I highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel. It's proximity to shopping and fine dining makes it an excellent choice as is but what really makes the property special is the staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful and we loved the relaxed vibe. The hotel has a cool history too. I can't wait to go back with my husband as I know he'll love that aspect.
I thought I was treating myself to a fancy hotel in San Francisco based on the reviews and the photos, but there's no way this hotel is a true 4 star establishment. I was in a front-facing room for my first night. I am not a light sleeper by any means, and it was so noisy I barely slept. I called the front desk (there is no true concierge, fyi) and asked to be moved to a quieter room. They happily gave me multiple new room options and even offered me a tour of my options. They told me many of the quietest rooms did not have much natural light, due to them being blocked by the many other concrete towers nearby. The front desk also told me it would only be a queen bed, but that's fine by me. After I checked in to the second room, I realized the bed had a slight dip and was not nearly as comfortable as the king sized bed, but the noise level was more important to me so I sucked it up. Both rooms have issues that need repairing - chipped door frames and walls from damage over time, peeling paint, and the dilapidated original windows from the building. The bath tissue was single ply and scratchy, as were the linens. No bathrobe, and the towels were scratchy, thin towels I'm not used to seeing in 4 star hotels. The first room was missing it's alarm clock, which I didn't realize until I checked in to the second room, and the heat wasn't on in the first room. Add in the old windows and a San Francisco summer, and both rooms were very cold. At least in the second room I was able to set the room at 72, and that helped. The heating and cooling system is forced-air and not the loudest, but not the quietest. Water was also difficult to access. The water stations in the hallway of both floors I stayed on were broken, so if I wanted any water I had to ask the front desk for a bottle or get it from the bathroom sink. I understand the hotel is dealing with an old building, but Viceroy is completely incorrect in calling this a 4 star hotel. I would give it 3 stars at best, based on my experience, and I won't be staying here again. I can spend $300 plus a night at an actual 4 star hotel in San Francisco, or find a 3 star hotel for much less money.…
We had a great experience at Hotel Emblem! The staff is accommodating and friendly. They have a go above and beyond attitude! The hotel decor is aesthetically pleasing, and the rooms are so comfortable. I highly recommend Hotel Emblem. If you stay here, don't skip the lounge. It's a cool, relaxing place to have a drink. The cocktails are delicious too!
Upon our arrival we were greeted by Audra and Sonny, and were offered house-made sangria (which was DELICIOUS and a great welcome after the long drive), and they even sent up a doggy bed and some some special treats for our pup! From the beginning, a promising memorable stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the hotel had a great hip design, and the central location left everything to be desired within walking distance. The coffee shop BlueStone Lane was a convenient delicious breakfast as well, so we could be off to face the day! Would absolutely stay here again with my family, or recommend to anyone else.
Hotel Emblem has a great location and is very hip with incredibly friendly staff. The Obscenity Bar and coffee shop are great. The rooms are typically small city rooms but with wonderful beds and very cool amenities. The next time I’m SF we will definitely stay again.
Great hotel and bar . Jesse was the highlight of my experience. Amazing bartender and amazing at making cocktails- challenged him you surprise me with a classic cocktails- he created the perfect sazarac. Overall a great experience. Well done!
