Sadie's By The Sea is the only full service, beach front resort in American Samoa, located in the heart of the government and business centers of the island, and close to many tourist attractions. Sadie's by the Sea is a fun, charming resort with first class Polynesian service. Lush...

This is an excellent accommodation during the disaster recovery period. The location is perfect with a beach added to it's perfection. My room was literally 10 feet away from the beach. The water is crystal clear blue. I swam with tropical mini fishes that hurdles...More

Your candid comments are really appreciated Edita. Tourism development is indeed slow however our visitor industry is just now taking positive steps to improve visitor experience. But it's a chicken or egg situation.. As a territory the U.S. sometimes labels us "International" and at other...More
The room was outdated. Mini fridge and microwave were in the bathroom. The restaurant, gift shop and pool are nice, as is the beach. The people were very friendly.
We asked for water at the cafe and were served a 16 ounce bottle, for which...More
I checked in at Sadie’s late on flight night, having just landed from Honolulu. The staff was perfectly lovely and the security guy/bellman in the lobby went above and beyond hauling my bag upstairs to my room and making no less than three trips back...More
That’s it really... $200 for a king room for 4 of us, calls itself the “only fully-serviced resort on American Samoa” but doesn’t have breakfast either included or to buy.

Theoretically best time is May through October which is "Trade-winds" season., although in reality there is little difference. December through March is the "Hurricane Season". Most years we do not experience a hurricane as we are in reality, on the edge of the hurricane belt. On average we experience a severe hurricane (winds to 150 mph) only once every 25 years. Temperatures are predictably 85-86 deg year 'round with 85% humidity. Temperatures seldom reach 90 deg. with the low being in the low 70's.
Wi-Fi is available at various locations around the island. At Sadie's Wi-Fi is free to hotel guests. Up until now it has been a bit spotty but reasonably reliable. Service has improved dramatically in the past couple of months.

The pool is nice and warm and I don't think there are swim wear restrictions within the hotel premises, which includes the beach. The beach is pretty clean and safe. We paddle from the Saddies beach at times. Although I got stung by a bluebottle jellyfish but no biggy. Usually the water is clear and you can clearly see everything around you.
The ER is a 5mins bus ride from the hotel or 20mins walk. There are other smaller health centers which open 8am-4pm weekdays around the island.
Keep a good insect repellent handy as there are mosquitoes which have landed few people with Chikungunya and Dengue Fever in the ER. Oh, and lots of sunscreen. December through till late March is the hottest time on island - lots of sun and heat!
Hope this helps.
