The Courtyard Oahu North Shore is the perfect spot for families for a vacation on the island. The staff is delightful and the rooms are up to covid cleanliness standards. The hotel has direct access to the beach via a short walking path and offers rentals for chairs, umbrellas, and just about anything else you might need for a day at the beach. The resort style pool is perfect for kids of all ages. Depending on where your room is located you may be able to have a Mountain View or ocean view. We were able to get a slight Mountain View in our room. Though the bistro has limited hours due to covid, there are plenty of great local restaurants and food trucks with in a few miles of the hotel. This location has a great small town feel being away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. There is a parking fee but it is a fraction of the cost of some of the larger beach resorts and there is no resort fee at the Courtyard Oahu North Shore. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to Oahu.…
Great end to a bad night. After a terrible rental car experience with Enterprise who left us stranded in a dark parking lot, we walked a mile to this nice hotel. I wish I knew the name of the women who checked us in but after a brief description of our evening she gave us a small gift that was most appreciated and made our night. She was working the front desk on 12/30/20 around 10pm. Great pool area and coffee shop!
The vibe here is quite familiar, similar to the aesthetics and feel of a lot of Courtyard by Marriott properties around the country. The extra emphasis on cleanliness everywhere and the presence of hand sanitizing stations at the front desk and near elevators was reassuring. The check-in area is expansive and I really liked the décor of the place. We had a 2 queen bed room for a party of 4 and the room was spacious and comfortable. There was a pull-out sleeper sofa as well in the room/ The bathroom was clean and the Paul Mitchell branded toiletries were much appreciated! There is an in-room coffee machine that was of tremendous help for us! Alternately, there is a Starbucks located inside the property as well. While our room did face the main road, we were on the second floor and there was not much traffic noise seeping in. The presence of laundry machine in the hotel was tremendously helpful for our multiple trips to some nearby beaches during our stay here to wash and dry our clothes. The hotel pool also turned out to be a good experience, albeit being a shallow one. Breakfast was not included with our stay - there are a few options to choose from the bistro near the front desk but on weekdays, must be ordered before 9 AM if I remember. There is a McDonald's right adjacent to the property and the Hukilau marketplace is also just adjacent. Albeit that a lot of the shops at the marketplace were closed because of current restrictions. We chanced upon a Saturday market at the marketplace grounds, which contained a lot of interesting local curios, dresses, footwear and food on Saturday morning when we were out for a morning walk. The Polynesian Cultural Center, which happened to be closed when we visited, is also a short walk from the hotel. One con was the $15 per day parking fee assessed by the property even though this wasn't a crowded town. A minor point was that there was no room-keeping service in occupied rooms for the duration of a stay - we had to place our trash outside our room and towels and anything else we needed would be delivered outside our room. While the strategy was understandable, I did see towels and trash cans piled up in front of multiple rooms, which suggested that the frequency of such pick ups from rooms could be improved.…
I was excited to book this property, a birthday weekend with my immediate family and siblings. We were not allowed a connecting room, the "best the could do" was a couple doors apart. My first impression in the lobby was that there was a lot of north shore locals making use of the facility. I thought perhaps employee's family? I don't know, but they knew their way around the facility. The room was disappointing. Stained furniture, carpet and drapes, a torn desk chair, a cracked mirrored closet door, and the refrigerator needed de-frosting. And, there were roaches. I did ask for a ground floor room and that was a good thing since the elevator access from the ground floor was broken (2nd floor had access the elevator). The lasting impression was the pool: the kiddie pool needed scooping and the hot tub had too much sand(?). But, the number of kids was an issue. I don't doubt that some were guests but I am willing to wager that there were "guests of guests" there with them. This is problematic to me since we were limited to the number of people at the pool at any given time (COVID-19) AND not everyone had the wristbands. I agree with the reservation time and 2 hour blocks for the pool, it did allow for some cleaning. However, open beverage containers, McDonald's (it's next door) cups and food, AND even a cooler was overlooked. I get it. The area residents probably kept this facility open and operational. Still, it was uncomfortable for us, first time guests.…
