Lovely residence inn, place is practically brand new. Good design and layout. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast east and plentiful (but could benefit from more fresh choices). Cool pool. Nearest beautiful beach would be in Ko’Olina lagoons about 15-20 min by car. Nightly food trucks nearby are an side benefit.

Modern, clean and comfortable. Rooms have kitchens, which makes it easy to avoid expensive restaurants. Grocery stores only 5-8 minutes away. And, this Residence Inn even has a row of food trucks available for meal options right out their front door in the evening hours. Evening entertainment (e.g. karaoke) a couple times a week. Breakfast buffet included hot eggs, sausage, rice, yogurt, cereals, etc. Location excellent; only 5-8 minutes, with easy on/off access of Interstate H1.

We stayed here after a late evening arrival on the island before heading out to the Aulani (Disney) resort the next day. Have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel itself was clean, well appointed, and perfectly located, with plenty of shopping, restaurant, and leisure activities nearby. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic as well. Only complaint: The desk in the room literally fell apart on top of me the moment it was touched (was obviously broken before and simply propped up). Fortunately, it was me who sat at it, but if it was my three-year-old, she would’ve been injured without question. We found out after the fact the room was used for a long term stay immediately prior to us and was left in rough shape. So I’m sure it was just an oversight — but a dangerous one nevertheless. The staff though here is AWESOME. Even held onto a bag for us for a couple nights to help lighten our load. We’ll be back here for a longer stay — if, for no other reason, the people!

Recently saw some unfavorable reviews of the property so I was a little I worried about my stay. Did not run into any problems and had a great stay! Property was clean and staff was great. Property has many activities to do during the work. Food trucks every night were great and gave us great options for dinner. Will definitely stay here again! Thanks!

So me & my wife stayed at this hotel & at first it was nice. The front desk was alright, checked us in. Keep in mind that we knew of the hotel being “pet friendly” but we were never informed or asked if we were bringing a pet. They failed to mention that if you bring a pet that you need to fill out a form & pay a specialty cleaning fee which cost $150 + the stay which is $20 per day, but we were never informed this so we didn’t really think of bringing my wife’s family dog, but I’ll get to that later. Anyways the hotel is nice , room is nice good amenities. We actually tried to extend our stay, so I called the front desk to ask if they had any rooms being that we were from Hawaii maybe we could get the kamaaina rates. They initially said there were no studio’s available because they sold out & tried to move me to a suite. Which is maybe $200 dollars more than what we originally payed. So I thought nothing of it & said I would consult with my wife. Originally we booked through Expedia so I though “hey let’s try & look to see if they have rooms on there or if the studio’s are actually booked right”. Low & behold there were 5 left. So me being weirded out, I end up calling back & saying “hey I checked through a 3rd party service, & there seems to be 5 studios available still.” & he goes “oh yeah sorry about that it seems that we do have, my mistake” ???? Like did rooms just appear out of nowhere? Then they said they will be able to extend it but not in the same room & to check back in at 10 because they don’t know if we can stay in the same room or not. So I said ok will do, wake up at 10 the next day only to find out that there was no call or text informing me that they had already did the stay in the same room, after worker “jun” said that I had to comeback the next morning to sort it out & there excuse was “oh we extended in the same room, we just thought you were sleeping”……. Like you take down people’s contact number but don’t call or leave a message that you did so I had to walk all the way to the front to make sure of that? ANYWAYS. So we extended & thought hey we see all sorts of dogs around & my wife was asking me maybe we should bring her dog on the last day, just for a visit. So we ended up picking her up the next day. Bringing her at about 4:17pm. We stayed in room 124 at the very end of the hallway, now the WHOLE stay we never had any suspicion that there was any inclination that there were spirits, but as she came in that day. She wasn’t herself. Staring at random places where we weren’t. Staring at this mirror that was next to couch, basically not acting as she would normally. So we thought nothing of it, till around 4-5in the morning. Me & my wife barely sleep at night cause that’s what we usually do, but our dog seemed off towards the end of the night, again crying, staring at random places. I had to use the bathroom & this dog rarely follows me anywhere because she is my wife’s family pet & is way closer to my wife than she is me. So I thought that it was odd that she would follow me in there. So my wife also followed, then she started whimpering & staring at the door or around the corner as if something was there. But we were right there & didn’t see anything. So my wife took a video to send it to her mom, tripping out that this was happening. We didn’t think nothing of it at the time till we reviewed the footage last night. As she’s whimpering she pans the camera to her, then towards the door & at the same time she was doing that. A white like mist just falls or comes around the corner than vanishes. At the time we had no idea but the room that last day felt VERY off, not like the other nights. So me & my wife didn’t sleep & basically stayed up all the way through the morning & left @ 6 for an early check out. NOW, THIS is where it gets messed up. After we left the hotel cleaning staff noticed that a dog had been present. So they didn’t even call, inform, or let us know of any charges. They just slapped us with a charge for the specialty cleaning fee & the dog stay as I previously mentioned. No warning, no call, just charged us. Now we only bring her over for LESS than a day, but because we didn’t inform them of that. Obviously because we had no idea there was a form, a cleaning fee, or a stay fee for the dog beforehand at check in. We had no idea of it, so they hit us with a $150 cleaning fee which ok I can understand. BUT they charged us for the dog’s WHOLE STAY. EVEN she had only been there for less than a day. We tried pleading & telling them over & over again that it is messed up that you guys are charging us for the full stay for her, instead of just charging her for one day, but because they cannot prove she wasn’t there they were just going to charge us anyway. After calling “Jun” they said they would call back to see if they could amend it, we got no call back. We call 3-4 days after our stay to see like what the hell where is the call back & we finally spoke to a manager. Her reaction was the same, horrible customer service, never even give us the benefit of the doubt or even be nice about it. Just really didn’t care & kept saying the same thing like a damn robot. These people don’t really care about you, they really only care about the charges & fees that are put in place & after reading some of the review’s on here I can see why they’re like this. So basically payed $350 for a dog who was there less than a day when I should’ve only payed $170. Unreal this staff is, never going here again. Poor customer service, poor management. Yeah the hotel is nice but the fact that the front desk is like that, PLUS there are random ghosts? Yeah I would beware about this hotel FOR SURE!!!!

My family and I stayed recently moved to Hawaii on military orders. My wife searched and searched for the best hotel stays on Oahu and determined RI in Kapolei was one of them. In recent reviews, customers commented on how new the facility was w/ great staff. So, we chose to stay here also because this location was listed under the Army's approved Temporary Lodging Allowance list. Our stay was great, despite having to move to another room on our second day due to power outage. Then, on 22 June, 11 days after we checked out, I received a bill via email. This bill carried a $350 charge for "guest damages" w/ no other explanation or evidence of damages. So, I called the front desk and spoke w/ a Manager (Paul Mulu). Paul indicated the damage was for stained linen. $350 for linen? That’s an expensive @$$ linen so I asked for it (for keeps) since it’s been paid for. He said due to COVID, the linen had to be discarded. So wait wait wait! I get a $350 charge 11 days after our stay for a supposed stained linen that I have not seen nor can physically obtain because they threw it away. And when I asked for evidence of the damaged item, it was not provided immediately. In fact, Paul sent me a photo of a stained linen on 27 June, 5 days after bill was sent. The photo does show linen with red spots: 1) how can I tell we caused the damages, 2) why did it take 5 days after the bill was sent and 16 days after we checked out to receive "evidence" and explanation. Shady? After the photo was sent, I emailed Paul immediately and mentioned that I have no issues paying for damages caused. My issue is with how the bill was delivered: 1) extremely delayed, 2) lacked explanation, 3) lacked evidence. Even now, how do I know those linens were from the room we stayed in? I love Marriott. It has offered many opportunities for me during my military travels and for my family when we are vacationing. Beware of potential shady practices!

My stay at this hotel was great until checkout. When I was sent my preliminary bill, I noticed a “Data Service” charge. I immediately contacted the front desk and was told that I ordered “enhanced” internet service…WHICH I DID NOT!!! My correct bill for my stay was over $4,000, as I stayed for 2+ weeks. With a bill that size, you would THINK they would accommodate the customer and remove the incorrect charge. However, DeeDee, the office manager, rudely told me that she would not be reversing the charge. When I informed her that I would be calling Corporate about the matter, she rudely said to “go ahead.” A very disappointing end to my stay!!!

Speaking to the staff at this hotel I would never recommend anyone stay here. I can understand, front desk staff that can answer questions to their best ability but when you work with a manager you expect them to speak in a professional and friendly manner. Paul the front office manager here seems to be very miserable in his role as he creates a seemingly friendly interaction with customers to be extremely rude. As if someone who just paid money to the hotel is not a customer. I highly recommend that he get some additional training or learn how to be sensitive to others issues as maybe it would help in interactions with the hotel. Normally I wouldn’t write such a poor review but Paul’s response compelled me to let others know this hotel’s staff requires training.

BUSINESS TRAVELERS AND OTHERS-DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU THINK YOUR TRAVEL PLANS MAY CHANGE. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING THEY WILL TELL YOU ONE THING BUT DO ANOTHER. I purchased a three day package and my business plans changed. The plans changed after the 11:00 checkout the first day (about 12:30) I called and asked if I could a.) have a bit of late checkout and b.) checkout before the three day package. I said to be fair I wold gladly pay the differential between the 3-day package and a normal one night stay. Bethany who is a Senior Representative at the front desk checked with the front desk Manager and told me if I "checked out before 2:00 I could exit early and only be charged FOR THE ONE DAY." I confirmed that I would be charged only one day. I have witnesses who heard my part of the conversation. I rushed back from Honolulu (over 40 minute drive) and just made it by 2:00 but when I received the bill they charged me for an extra day. Assuming it was an error I spoke with DeeDee the Desk Manager and she said that regardless I would always be charged an early check out fee. I reiterated that to be fair I was willing to pay the differential between the package rate and the daily rate but she rudely said 'no, that fee is not available.' Had I known that Bethany and Residence Inn would blatantly misrepresent their accommodation for a business traveler and charge and extra day I would NEVER have stayed there. Breakfast is poor quality heat lamp sausage and scrambled eggs with white rice and cereal/cold food. 3/10 The place is clean, but it is far from business and in the middle of nowhere. Travelers don't do there if you want to spend any time on the beach or in the city the commute is 35-45 minutes due to traffic. Plus DeeDee the manager is rude. This Manager is a poor reflection of the Marriott family of hotels. Bottom Line: STAY AWAY. A happy customer tells one person, an unhappy customer tells 10. Or in this case thousands....

The staff that I've encountered really makes the hotel. The genuine hospitality and care that they put in trying to make my familys stay comfortable and relaxing was much appreciated. Tiana, Jaz, & Jun from the front desk are the best! They treat you like family and that's what it's all about. When we needed things delivered to the room Shanndon was quick in response always with a smile on his face and always asking if we needed anything else. The staff that I encountered are top notch. The hotel itself is new and modern the rooms were very nice and beds comfortable. The breakfast area was huge and with little nooks and flat screen tvs. Breakfast was great! Can never go wrong with Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice. The pool was great and they have the outdoor shower by the pool area for you to wash off in before heading up to your room. it was huge and I believe heated. They do have a bar in the hotel and a little ordering window by the pool which was great.
