Front Desk staff was friendly and their check in/out process was smooth and efficient. Hskg/Maint staff had done a great job keeping room clean and in working order. The breakfast amenity was unexpectedly a great addition. Thank you Wade Gesteuyala and your team.
Absolutely love this place, the staff and grounds are great. Every time we stay here we are welcomed by with open arms and big smiles! Steph, always remembers us and greets us at the front desk. We must let you know that she even went one step further with helping us get home!! Yes, she showed us exactly what to do and input everything into our phone, THANK YOU STEPH! We also spoke to Tiffany, Dee Dee, Anthony and of course the kitchen staff is amazing too. The cleanliness and security of the hotel is very impressive also, everything was being cleaned and sanitized daily. The parking is plentiful and very safe. We had a wonderful stay and hope to visit again.
Front desk people very Polite and try to be helpful they get **** out of 5. A/C system has no REAL individual control we liked to have frooze 1st night in room and we are hot natured people... I have in stayed in hundreds/likely thousands of hotels over the 50 years of traveling this was one of the very RARE occurrences' of A/C being out of control! The Maintenance people strapped with making excuses and creating work-around stories for a very weird system!
Had to fly to the islands for a funeral, booking online was easy. We booked 3 rooms and decided Hampton Inn and Suites was the right choice because our family lives in Makakilo and needed to drive to Mililani which was such a better option than being in town (Honolulu or Waikiki) due to traffic which has gotten so bad within the last decade. The free breakfast was a plus since we were always on the go and didn’t know if we would have time to eat! Ooo yeah the potatoes needs some work! Arrived at 3am due to a delayed flight, I was greeted by Kristel. She saw how tired we were and attended to our needs by quickly getting us our room. Mind you we were supposed to fly in the day before and arrive at 11am. Nonetheless, even though we were there for only 2 ½ days it was nice to be greeted by her in the evening time after our long days. I would definitely consider staying here again.…
The Hampton Inn in Kapolei has friendly, helpful staff. The rooms are clean and thoughtfully designed. This is a great option for travelers who want a great hotel at an affordable price. Thank you to the amazing staff at Hampton Inn Kapolei!
Nice place but the breakfast was weak. The hot items are in warming bins with eggs thinned with some unknown ingredient, diced potatoes that are boiled with no seasoning, and hot oatmeal the was very good and do it yourself waffles which was a hit. Just don't expect to eat healthy eggs. These items are mass produced elsewhere and shipped in. There is a great breakfast cafe in the attached shopping mall. I would return if the price is still competitive while knowing that we need to buy a good hot breakfast half of the days.
Mall location is great, food groceries nearby, easy parking. Welcoming and kind staff. Nice clean rooms, excellent practices for COVID (sanitizing stations in breakfast area and near lifts!). Staff was accommodating for needs of members.
We had a great stay! The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I would recommend this hotel and I would stay there again. The hotel is located at a nice outdoor mall with great eating options.
Our family stayed here for 4 days while transitioning to Hawaii. Super clean hotel, staff was pleasant, housekeeping was every other day, but kept our rooms clean and fully stocked with many towels and toiletries for all of us. Beds were comfortable, and the best part, the hotel offers free hot breakfast every morning starting at 6:00am. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning whenever we need a staycation
We have booked Hampton Inns across the US for over two decades because of the consistent delivery on the core amenities that make for a family friendly hotel. We stayed two nights at this hotel and my score here is based on the second night. Our first night was a horror show that resulted in a comped night. I'll include that information at the bottom but don't think (or at least I hope it doesn't) reflect the hotel in general. Overall - this is a hotel that is trading on a name and the sky high hotel prices on hawaii without providing the appropriate quality of service, amenities or upkeep to deserve your business. Pros: 1) The hotel is located in a shopping plaza in Kapolei. While this offers plentiful restaurants and shops in the close vicinity this is also a significant con for reasons I will describe below. 2) The King/sofabed room was very reasonably sized with a functional fridge and comfortable beds. 3) Apart from one employee (described below) all other staff were friendly and accommodating. Cons: 1) The room otherwise was not convenient. There were no linens for the sofabed (we had to go down to the front desk to request more), minimal pillows etc. Why offer a sofabed but then make it so difficult to use? The bathroom door was absolutely absurd - It was a slider door on a railing on the outside - which meant that you couldn't lock the door and there was a ~ 2 inch gap between door and frame when closed. Better be close friends with those in the room! 2) The location means that you share parking with everyone in the mall. We had to park quite far away from the hotel which is not great for baggage etc. 3) While the food/beverages were all adequate and frequently refilled there was something VERY wrong with the coffee (stale and sour), waffle mix (sour and pasty) and eggs (tasted like salty toothpaste). The common sourness and pasty nature across the three suggest that something is wrong with the water but I would expect that they are checking before serving customers. My kids would eat just about any flavor waffle (and have happily devoured any and all hotel waffles in their time) but both said these were disgusting. The eggs were grainy and pasty - honestly I have never eaten anything like that. I didn't point out these issues as given the other problems experience with the room and the situation described below - I felt that it may have seemed like 'serial complaining". I figured that if it was fine for everyone else - leave it be and if others felt the same - they would notify the property. The no good-very bad night. 1) We arrived at the hotel later in the evening after an evening flight and so my tired kids went to bed. I jumped in the shower at about 9:30 and noticed that there was only one temperature of water available - Boiling. I thought maybe switching up the input/output may help so I switched from the faucet to the shower and now only cold water was available. I felt that a functioning shower was a reasonable expectation for a 300/night hotel and so I went down to the front desk. When I talked to the woman (T) she said "well that is normal, the equalizer is broken and they break at least once a day somewhere in the hotel" and offered to send a repairman up to fix it later - I noted that A) my kids were sleeping and it was past 10 pm at that point so that really wasn't a feasible solution. She then muttered as she went back to looking at the computer "declines service". I then asked "if it breaks every day - shouldn't the hotel be checking the room before renting out and moreover, given that only one temperature of water comes out - wouldn't that have been caught if they cleaned the tub?" She then said (while putting her hand up in my face) " I understand your frustration but we can't assign the room if it was clean, talk to someone in the morning" and then went back to her computer without looking at me and continued to type. At this point, I was livid but realized that she clearly didn't want to provide any solution or offer any empathy and went to bed. When I woke up in the morning, sleep deprived and cranky, I went down to the front desk and spoke with the manager (Dee) who immediately treated me like a human and said "sorry". She then proceeded to find me an alternative room down the hall (which given the time (7 am) meant it was available the night before but wasn't offered by "T") and upon description of the treatment provided the night before - immediately offered to remove the room from my bill. I sincerely appreciated the gesture but am still wondering how that room managed to squeeze through cleaning and the general awareness of the malfunction. Obviously, it is either not being cleaned/maintained regularly OR they rent them knowing there are problems - both are unacceptable. The customer is not always right but being that disrespectful in the absence of any provocation is never acceptable.…
