Had a great experience staying with Don and De for 3 nights on a recent trip to Oahu. Made us feel totally at home using their wireless, enjoying papaya for breakfast, or giving us their maps and recommendations for daily trips throughout the island. We were even treated to a piano concert by 2 talented other guests, using the grand...

We spent 4 nights in the circus room. Donald, the property manager, is very kind, fun to talk to and professional. I believe that the high ratings seen for this B&B are related to the wonderful hosts above all else. The B&B was of a great value with adequate comfort. The circus bedroom is fairly small and there are a...

Don and De have been living in Hawaii since 1986, when they left the West Village of New York to seemingly retire from the fashion and art business. 27 years later they are still going strong working in real estate, hosting travelers from around the world and working for LGBT rights in Hawaii. We absolutely loved our time with them....

For our first trip to Hawaii, we decided to stay in a B&B and chose to stay at Ali'i Bluffs B&B. Our main decision to stay there was because of location and cost but we discovered more and that made our stay very nice. First of all, Don and De are excellent hosts and their knowledge of the island and...

I travel to Oahu, Hawaii, several times a year on business and have been doing this for well over twenty years. From a recommendation made to me in 1989 I decided to try a B&B instead of my usual business man's hotel accommodation. I stayed at Ali'i Bluffs Windward Bed and Breakfast and met Don and De. As a result...

May sound like a travel brochure cliché, but this is truly, the “real” Hawaii. As a born and raised “local” until my mid-twenties (in my 60’s now), I can attest to De and Don’s GENUINE aloha spirit. They will welcome you with intriguing conversation and anecdotes if you wish it; ensure your privacy if you want that. Their home, especially...

We absolutely loved our time staying with Don and De in Kanehole. They were both absolutely charming and full of really interesting tales from their rich and full lives. Their home was full of really interesting artwork and knick-knacks, and they were happy to talk about any of them! Don in particular was so helpful - he got us maps,...

From the moment Don opened the gate door and ushered us into the lush front garden we were treated like favored relatives. Don & De are amazing hosts and spending time with them was every bit as delightful as anything else we did. In fact, on our last full day, my daughter and I were a bit "wowed out" and...
