If you are a self sufficient traveler, who craves a low key vibe but wants a clean room with no TV ( thankfully) in a great convenient spot this is it. Really one of my favorite spots anywhere! The courtyard is super tranquil, the rooms are simple, well thought out and beds are crazy comfy! They offer parking which is... More

Call me crazy, but being in a room that small with only a curtain between the bed and the bathroom is less than ideal. I could flush while still under the sheets... Otherwise our stay was short and uneventful...arrived late, left for Hana in the morning. Only interaction with staff was asking night manager if any restaurants were still serving... More

One of the highlights of our holiday in Maui was staying at Nalu Kai Lodge. It was tucked away down a lane, and such a great discovery. From the moment we entered the timber gate we felt that great, chilled holiday feeling. Every moment there after was just as good as the next. Room was spotless, with perfect, simple authentic... I brought my husband back to island (he had never been). So, in effort to give him the complete maui experience, we stayed in several spots around island ranging from Air B&B, resorts, friends' places, camping and here. Nalu Kai was the perfect place. It was very convenient to walking around paia town, they offered free self laundry service, and... More

We stayed in room #5 upstairs. Room was cramped, but perfect if you just need it for sleeping. No a/c, so it felt stuffy at times, but there's a ceiling fan and island breeze if the windows are open. Our room had a window facing Nalu Pl, so it sometimes got noisy when cars were parking or leaving. Parking is... More

Our room (room 100) and beds were cramped and uncomfortable. Looked nothing like the picture on Trip Advisor. There was no air conditioning, no TV. No other furniture in the room besides the small beds. There are hotels in Kahului with much nicer rooms at the same price.

This place is perfect if u r looking for a no frills spot that is very clean. The location was perfect - right in the middle of Paia. I liked the no fuss check-in/out. The staff, though not visibly present were super helpful when emailed. I was traveling on my own & needed help with a few things & Darcy... More

We stayed here and loved it, so happy to have gotten the 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen. Lately when traveling we prefer the option to make our own food. This place is walking distance to everything, beach, bar, store, coffee, yoga, kombucha - you get it. There is a super nice grill to use, with seasonings, cutting board and sink... More

Cheap and within very short walking distance to shops, restaurants and beaches. The room was small but comfortable with a very good bed, also had a small fridge that came in handy. There is small but nice common area where you can relax with drinks. Would stay here again if in Paia.
