This was our second visit to the Banyan Bed & Breakfast Retreat. The peaceful garden atmosphere and easy-going, pleasant hospitality brought us back. We adore the upcountry location just down the road from Makawao, and 10 - 15 minutes up the road from Pa'ia and the beach; it's also the perfect base for exploring Haleakala and the road to Hana....

I was here for a yoga retreat and thoroughly enjoyed this sweet property and the friendly welcome we received from the proprietor and staff. Loved the saltwater pool and the hot tub too, as well as the big expanse of lawn and awesome trees. There's even a bit of an ocean view.

The grounds were beautiful and so peaceful. I came to stay for a week and felt it was the perfect choice. I loved the yummy breakfast delivered every morning. I looked forward to taking it and my coffee and eating it out in the nature of the grounds. It was great being close to Makawao town so I could grab...

Quaint property conveniently located for access to the upcountry area. Would be best suited to groups (weddings, yoga retreats ect) opposed to a couples getaway. Clean moderate units and fresh breakfast delivered to your door. We appreciated the property for what it was but it did not offer the privacy we look for in accomadation as a couple. The history...

My wife and I stayed in the Palm Suite for four nights in late November while visiting our daughter upcountry. The charming Suite included a full kitchen, with a sitting and dining area along with a nice size bedroom; everything was quite clean and comfortable. Marty, the proprietor was most hospitable; and assured our stay met our expectations. Perfect location...

Marty and his daughter were so lovely for our 2 night stay with our friends who came into town for our wedding. Some from all over the world, it was the perfect location for us to relax, cook great food, have some drinks and lounge around the pool catching up. With beautiful views, lovely trickling of rain, lush landscaping and...

It was so nice to stay at this location. It was very comfortable and just far enough from the crowds to feel the sense of solitude, peace and quite. The amenities are very nice, pool, hot tub, and the grounds are absolutely lovely. We were a group of 12 that took up most to the rooms and cottages and we...

I know I know, We are on Vacation!!!!! However, I and another guest desperately needed constant internet access (work and school) and the internet was temperamental to say the least. EVERYTHING ELSE was amazing! The location, the view, the pool, the rooms, the kitchen WOW from top to bottom. If you are looking at Banyan Bed & Breakfast I say...

Beautiful property, great location, Marty and Helena were amazing hosts. Check out the yoga studio and the saltwater pool. Loved it. Will definitely go there again. The furnishings, art and history made me feel as if I was home and it a tourist.

I don't want to write this, because this perfect oasis of calm and rejuvenation will become in such demand tht I will not be able to find a reservation. But that would be selfish. If you want time away from the tourists yet be within 15 minutes of everything wonderful on Maui, then you need to make a reservation here.
