This was my very first time staying at the Royal Lahaina Resort on Maui and by far the most memorable vacation that I will never forget! I was immediately welcomed when I arrived in their beautiful lobby by their friendly staff who made me feel at home. The resort is just steps away from the beach where you can watch humpback whales and go for a swim. The resort offers activities the traditional Hiu Wai which is a Hawaiian Cleansing Ceremony at sunrise. This is a must-do! My room was very clean and the balcony views of the ocean were breathtaking. The thing that I most appreciated about this resort was that it made us feel like family! Every employee on property greeted us with a smile and warm hello or farewell. Our family had a great stay at the Royal Lahaina resort during Spring Break. The resort and grounds are a scene out of paradise. The staff was super friendly, and the Royal Ocean Terrace restaurant has great food, especially the breakfast. We received exceptional service from Elvie. Many Thanks to all of the staff at Royal Lahaina for making this fabulous vacation possible!

Stay away - not worth the money! We only booked this resort because Costco Travel had a good deal. Even for that, it's not worth it. CONS: Housekeeping/maintenance was bad. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work and it took maintenance 48 hours to replace it. I mentioned housekeeping because clearly whoever cleaned/checked my room prior to me checking in did not check if the exhaust fan was working or not. No complimentary water - Even after spending over $400/night, they don't even give you complimentary water. YOu have to pay $2 for water. I would expect any hotel/restort to at least give 2-4 complementary bottles and then charge for additional ones. That said, there is a water refill station, but it's still bad to pay for water after paying $$$ for the room! No microwave - this is a basic requirement these days! we stayed for 5 nights and couldn't reheat food cos there was no microwave. We felt bad wasting restaurant leftovers but since there was no microwave to reheat food, we couldn't take any food back with us to the room! I think we got a basic room but even then, almost any small/airport hotel has a microwave in the room these days! Weird/non-existent room service hours: We called to order room service dining for lunch and was told that in-room room service food delivery is only AFTER 5pm! what kinda crazy rule is that? Whats the point of having room service if we cant use them when we want to?! No table and chair - for the money we spent, I would at least expect a small table and chair. it wasn't there! disappointing! Im sure we got a basic room but still.. almost any entry level rooms have a small work table and chair! Bad design of power outlets: the power outlets near the bed are the very bottom and behind the side table. Most charging adapters/cables don't reach so far. Thankfully I had an extension cord which I could use. Housekeeping doesn't clean properly - there were hairs in the wash basin after housekeeping was done. we know its from one of the housekeepers because we weren't in the room when they cleaned and saw the hair soon as we got in. if they had done their job properly, they would have noticed and cleaned the hair :) Front Desk customer service is bad - I took the time to walk down to front desk to express my concerns and the guy at the front desk wouldn't even make eye contact with me. He just kept saying "uh huh" and "ill let housekeeping know".. kinda like ready responses and I could see he wasn't sincere about acknowledging my concerns. In the end, when I asked him if I could get some compensation for the exhaust fan problem and bad housekeeping, he said he would waive a days parking. I appreciate that but his attitude really pissed me off! PROS: Right next to beach slightly better deal with Costco - including car and resort…

Our housekeeping service is scheduled for every other day. Unfortunately, we do not advertise microwaves or bottled water in our rooms as we are plastic conscience on the Island of Maui. We as a company decided to have 3 water stations available to our guests instead of having plastic bottle waste. We will be going through major renovations in our bungalows, restaurant and lobby area beginning in May 2023. Your comments have been shared with the appropriate departments so that they may be addressed. We really do hope you visit us again in the future to regain your confidence in our service and product.

We had amazing service, beach activities and amazing views thanks to the room upgrade! The beach was beautiful and never crowded. Many excursions offer pick up from the restore and location to the restaurants and shops is great because you can easily get there but you don’t hear/see the commotion from the resort

We were underwhelmed. Upon checkin, the staff person was coughing and sneezing. I took a giant step away from the desk! We reserved a bungalow. Upon entry, we discovered two full size, not queen beds. I should have looked at the pictures more closely. A floor lamp had apparently fallen over at some point, and the bulb socket was loose, with exposed wiring. Also, the nightstand lamp wouldn't stay on. We reported this the next day and were assured it would be soon fixed. When we checked out five days later, it hadn't been addressed. The carpet and upholstered seat cushions were stained. The lighting was fluorescent, with a cold feel. Three appliances shared a duplex outlet, forcing you to unplug one to use another. I slid the refrigerator out from the wall, frightening some large bug, and found the outlet for the refrigerator. I plug it in there so that we'd no longer have to play musical chairs with the appliances. The refrigerator had an issue with condensation on the top shelf, which moistened the bottom of whatever item was placed upon it. Apart from all of that, we enjoyed being in a bungalow, away from the busy tower, with access to a kitchen. There was a delightfully illuminated monkeypod tree outside our bungalow. They gladly replenished the coffee K-cups and provided a corkscrew upon request.…

2 beach chairs and umbrella is $125 for 4 hours. Expensive food/drinks. No beach activities are free. Pool bathrooms are far. Parking is extra. $40 resort fee per day. Hot tubs were closed. Pretty location though. Go to the store and get your own stuff. They allow that at least.

had to contact front desk a couple of times before for each issue we had. ie Air Conditioning, get room cleaned after third day, clean towels after third day. Issues were eventually resolved. But frustrating.

We were multi generational family traveling so had 3 rooms. 1 fantastic room and 2 horrible. Royal Lahaina, saying you are renovating does not bring comfort to those who have to stay in rooms that are old, moldy, and have paper thin walls (literally heard someone cutting their nails) and it is without conscience that you would offer those out. For a lot of people Maui is the trip of a life time and if you are stuck with a poor room you will have a bad sleep and possibly worse from the mold. Unforgivable business practice Royal Lahaina. If you are lucky enough to get a decent room (as we had one out of the three ) it will make all the difference. Kim at the front desk deserves a raise and a promotion. I can't imagine some of what she has to deal with on a daily basis due to the uneven experience guests have due to decent rooms versus decrepit rooms. We didn't have our room cleaned for three days (garbage attracted cockroaches, no toilet paper) and Kim saved us. Also thanks to caretaker Willy who literally had to drive us to hotel garbage site to rid of overflowing garbage cans. Prepare yourself for the size of Maui cockroaches. Shout out to Stephanie at the front desk for her lovely disposition. Still not sure what we paid resort fee for. Are we funding the renos? Again, management you should really check your policy of letting out the horrible rooms. The decent thing to do would be to close them until they are habitable. What the poor practice of the management/owner at the resort took from us Maui gave back. Mahalo to the beautiful people of Maui. Thank you for sharing your beauty with us. A few tips - the towel hut has free sunscreen and after sun care at the side, not visible right away. The shops at Fairway are cheaper and just a few blocks away. Round Table pizza is close by and good (thanks again for the tip Kim!) And take the trolley to the Hyatt to see the penguins - the landscaping is spectacular and you will see parrots, flamingos, and swans for free. Mahalo to the kind people at the resort. See Eleanor in the gift store and Helena will take care of your tours. Both so kind and lovely. The manager Ford at the restaurant is very nice and truly cares. Reyhall at front entrance great at sharing tips for island. So happy we were able to take once in a lifetime trip but would not go back. Aloha. …
