If you are looking for a nice, quiet, clean and relaxing vacation villa, this place is not for you. If you have noisy, screaming kids and are generally inconsiderate, this is your place with all the other screaming kids and inconsiderate families. We had the master portion of a 3 bedroom villa, oceanfront in the Lahina Tower. The unit was filthy. Underneath the living room sofa was food debris, hair, and three crayons. No one could have vacuumed since the place was built. The tile floors were grimy, walking around barefoot was not an option. The second bathroom had severe water damage to door casings. The cabinets in the kitchen and master bathroom were warped and did not close. The shower door in the master bathroom was improperly installed so water leaked out. The dishwasher was improperly installed and not flush with the counter top so the door scraped against the cabinet. The refrigerator was dented. The walls around each light switch were grimy with handprints. The furniture was worn and dirty. The dressers and headboards had sticky, dirty handprints on them, as did the windows. Every dining room chair cushion had food stains on them. The stackable washer dryer combo was installed in the closet crooked and not level so when you tried to load the dryer the door would swing back and crack you on the back of the head. The villa was located above a grassy area that continuously had people playing ball games very loudly. The view included all the lounge chairs on the lawn with half naked ladies most of who should not have been wearing thong bathing suits. Too many screaming kids and loud, drunk, adults. Before 7 a.m. the people in the unit next to us would start loudly arguing with their children in the hallway and slam doors. There was no housekeeping service for the two weeks we were there, not even one cleaning between weeks. I suppose it didn't matter since the place was dirty to begin with. Yuk. We'll never return here.…
My family of 6 stayed in the Lanai tower, oceanfront, two bedroom with adjoining studio room for 6 nights. The condo was in great condition, comfortable beds, plenty of space and great quality furnishings/bedding. The kitchen was well stocked as we used it for three dinners during our week stay. The grounds were beautiful, multiple pools to choose from - the ones closest to the building were more low keyed, and the main pool was large with lots options for fun. The view was fantastic off our balcony and it was also very comfortable with seating and table. Walk way to Whalers Village was busy but convenient to get to shops and food. We only heard noise a few times from the rooms above, and although near the elevators as all ocean front are in the building, never heard noise from the hallway. We didn't use any food services except for Starbucks but there were many options, with the main restaurant (believe it's Longhis) set to open/reopen after our trip ended. Amenities were great, Safeway 10 minutes away to load up our kitchen, and we weren't lacking for anything. Really easy to get to Lanai or take advantage of sailing right off the beach. Only Cons: The parking garage was an adventure every day (tight turns is an understatement) and our master shower could have used some Tilex.…
Marriott's Maui Ocean Club is an incredible resort. After visiting for many years, we decided to take the plunge into timeshare ownership so that we could visit every year. The resort has one of the best pools on the island and a great location to world class beaches, restaurants, shopping and black rock. The resort is extremely family friendly and the hospitality of the staff is top notch. Our rooms and the resort are always in excellent shape and clean. Every time I have had a problem with my room or an amenity the staff is on it quickly and apologizes for any inconvenience. The resort is huge and has pools everywhere. A Starbucks, convivence store, and a small shop that sells beach on pool supplies is also on site. One of the newer convivences is a filtered water bottle fill station. Which we loved as a great way to have fresh, great tasting water. We typically stay in a two bedroom condo style room which are amazing and feature all the comforts of home. We love Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Molokai, Maui & Lanai Towers and cannot wait to return.…
In over 40 years as a Marriott guest & 20 plus as a Marriott timeshare owner, never have I met a more unwelcoming, condensing front desk staff. Come to find out many other guests & owners would not be coming back as well due to front desk staff attitude & a plethora of other reasons. The remainder of staff were personable, helpful & graceful. It’s a pity there is no cohesiveness between front & back end. The hotel itself is under an acceptable makeover. The location had plenty dining options within walking distance but make reservations well in advance
There are pluses and minuses. It was not crowded. So using the pool and hot tub was great. Lines were short at the front desk and Longhis Restaurant. All but one of the staff was friendly. We are Chairman Club Platinum members. However, they put us on the third floor of a ten story tower. The rooms, kitchen, bathrooms were nice. But if Internet is important to you, you will be disappointed. The room TV offered Amazon Prime, Netflix, and Showtime - BUT, if the Internet is not working, then you will have a bad experience trying to watch these. And the Internet worked intermittently. We called for help and were transferred to their national tech support line. No one answered even thought we were put on hold for 15 minutes. We called back to the front desk, and they said a technician would come. No one came. So we called again. An hour later we were told b/c we were on an "end" room, the Internet strength was low and b/c so many people were watching the NCAA basketball tournament, the bandwidth was all used up. Three quarters into our stay, we were moved from Lanai Tower to Molokai Tower. This time to the sixth floor. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. My wife is allergic and asked that the situation be remedied. They moved us to a room on the seventh floor which did not smell like smoke but had a small smell of urine. The Internet was worse. And the basketball game was long over and we were not on an "end" room. Another guest told us they had no Internet for three days. So that is why I wrote this Marriott resort is not up to the Marriott standard. There was one guy at the towel hut who was rude, reminding me every time about the $20 fee if we did not return towels and reprimanded me for not having my room key. We did an Instacart Safeway run for what we thought was a small amount of groceries for 2 week say, and it was $565, including an $82 tip that they automatically added. We probably will come back but are disappointed this particular resort had the problems we described.…
You can walk to many restaurants and shops, people that work here are so nice the view of the ocean and the sunsets from anywhere on the top of it fantastic, and he accommodations are gorgeous! We stayed oceanfront the first week and had a view of the pool that would be my number one preference. The second week they were Oceanview in the other building and while the accommodations were just as gorgeous, even larger actually, I like the ocean front better.
We are new owners, having purchased a biannual 2-bedroom oceanfront week on redweek.com. This was our first visit. We were a bit apprehensive, given the age of the property and some of the reviews. I have to confess I loved it. Much depends on the unit of course. We had 4108/4109: we stayed in 4109 ( the „true“ oceanfront ) and our friends in 4108 ( slightly overlooking the pool area, but easily seeing the ocean ). We looked at the top of the palm trees: Hawaii feeling at its best. Watching whales from the balcony while sipping wine was just amazing. Note though: the two-bedrooms can be split into a one-bedroom ( includes a living room ) and a studio: the studio can be off to the side and not offer much „oceanfront“, easily leading to disappointment. There are room maps, showing it all. There were plenty of lounge chairs available. There is a person watching out that you do not reserve more than 2 lounge chairs or not more than one hour and not before 7:00 am: annoying, of course, if you try otherwise, but in the end good for all and good for you: so thanks. The premises are beautifully and immaculately maintained. The beach is beautiful, though it is good to check for the spot between the MMOC and the Napili Towers ( I think ), where the water is a bit less dark because it is sandy and easy to enter without encountering corals. Plenty to enjoy on the premises too. Lots of restaurants and activities nearby. We used the BBQ grills a lot to grill tuna air mahi mahi steaks: plenty always available and well maintained. Overall very enjoyable.…
We have visited this resort several times and it was great again. We live the location. The beach and pools are great. We rented cabanas several days and had great service for drinks. The beach was great for seeing turtles up close and whales in the distance. Activities were good with live music and hula dancing. We tried our hand at pickleball which was fun. The rooms and grounds seem to have been upgraded recently. The rooms are nice. Kitchen is limited with no oven or stove top. Outdoor grills are well maintained. No laundry in rooms. Lahaina is close. Several golf courses nearby. Very enjoyable stay!
We have stayed at this hotel many times and this one-year delayed stay was great. Thank you Marriott for allowing a delayed stay; great customer service that affirms repeated business. All the resorts along Kaanapali Beach are nice. The standard hotel rooms are a nice size. There is a pullout sleeper sofa for an additional sleeping area. This Marriott continues to provide upscale soap/shampoo that is tropical based and is a nice touch for the resort instead of using normal Marriott stuff. The valet staff and bell staff are great. We self-parked a few years ago and the comments by others about the very tight garage are correct. The $5 additional cost over self parking for valet (plus tips) was well worth the service and they were outstanding all week. The hotel was not providing room cleaning - but were quick in replacing towels and taking away garbage. They can keep this system forever as long as they maintain that quick response. The only negative was the air conditioning system and the motion sensor control. It took a while for the AC to cool down the room as it just was not a strong performance and it shut down at night with no movement. This is frustrating. I know this is a huge money saver for the hotel - especially at Hawaii energy costs, but was uncomfortable at times. We found pool chairs every day - sometimes had to wait for a good location to open up - but always found one. The location can not be beat. Teralani boats for whale watches pick up in front of the Westin; Black Rock snorkeling is just down the walkway (rent equipment right there for $20), and Whalers Village is a short walk for quick food and mandatory ABC store essentials. Choose this resort if you are able to get in. This is a very nice resort.…
We own a timeshare at MOC. We come for a week annually in February. We request a high floor in the Lanai tower and generally get it, based upon our Marriott status. This year a 6th floor (there are 9 floors). Views are beautiful and whales are easily seen from the balconies. Location of hotel is the best. A secret snorkeling spot is found by snorkeling straight out from the Beach Activity Center (green roof), then past the breaking waves, then snorkel all the way in front of the Marriott. Beautiful coral, lots of fish and many turtles. This area and Kapalua Bay are my 2 favorites on Maui. The Marriott is a Timeshare facility which used to be a hotel. So, a 2 bedroom condo is actually a 3 bedroom hotel room, re-configured as a condo. So, it has a microwave and refrigerator but no kitchen or washer/dryer. 3 bathrooms and 3 balconies. Free, large laundry room is located in the Molokai Tower and you can do multiple loads at one. Longhi’s (formerly a Lahaina restaurant) is now located at the MOC. A great addition. The MOC is located on the best spot on Kaanapali Beach and the ocean walk is a few minutes from Whalers Village and several great restaurants. We travel all over the world, but this is one of the 2 places that we return every year. Always during whale season.…
