Our first time to Maui and we have just returned from a 3 week stay at the resort. Excellent location right on the beach and our room was perfect. During Covid, there is no in-room housekeeping services but they will bring clean towels and linens immediately upon request. I was very happy that we were the only ones that were ever in our room. It was not our experience to have any issues with our stay. Everything and anything was handled with 100% staff and guest safety, politely, efficiently and courteously. All staff adhered to masks and social distancing. For the most part, guests did as well. Pools and grounds beautifully maintained and the BBQ's must have had rotating grills as every time we used one, it appeared to be new. Access to the gym facilities by appointment only which allowed only one room to use at a time. I would definitely recommend this resort to couples or families and hope to return again one day.…
My husband and I spent 11 nights at the Maui Kaanapali Villas and it was our first visit to Maui. We loved the location and the entire resort. Every single person who works there is so nice and helpful. They have daily maid service, which was something new to us. The pool was really nice, and we loved Castaway Cay for lunch and dinner. The beach is breathtaking and we enjoyed sitting in the lawn chairs provided by the ocean and watching the whales. The unit was updated and very clean. They have a small convenience store/gift shop which we loved. We would highly recommend you stay at Maui Kaanapali Villas.
The villas were wonderful. The location was in walking distance to everything. Would highly recommend this to families or individuals. We will be back! Felt comfortable even with Covid restrictions. Resort was the perfect size.
I am absolutely appalled at the “customer service” we received at this hotel, I would never stay here again or recommend this place to anybody. If I could give zero stars I would. I have traveled extensively throughout my lifetime and have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service. The front desk receptionist was extremely rude from the first time we called for help and was not able to answer our questions, so we called again and she was still rude and offered no helpful answers to our questions. She then CALLED US back with a horrible attitude, stating that if we kept calling the front desk they would not be giving us any information (they never gave us helpful information to begin with during the first two phone calls we made) and then hung up on us, not even giving us a chance to speak. I have never been treated so horribly as a paying customer. We are leaving and going to stay somewhere else.…
The place is a dated hotel, poorly managed and disorganized messaging around COVID rules. The first unit we stayed in had heavy construction and piping work going on because of a roof leak. After the first night, they said that construction was only going to be for one night. Day 2-3 it was still happening and I was told there was nothing they could do about the noise. I had to argue with font end staff to get moved to another room that wasn’t a downgraded unit. They eventually found another room with IKEA-quality furnishing, and a dishwasher would flood water after every load. The very next morning in the new unit, the construction moved to directly above this changed room at 7:45am. After a couple more days of enduring the noise, they finally moved us to a room in a different building after speaking with the manager. The manager was a really nice guy and wish the other people at the resort were as helpful. Unfortunately, the new unit had an amateur trombone player that decided to practice his scales daily throughout the rest of the stay. The final straw for this 1-star rating was the exceedingly rude front desk woman during the evening shift. At initial checkin we were told that we could workout after hours and security would just let us in. It sounded great to workout after 10:00 PM and not have a bunch of potential COVID-carriers breathing on us during the pandemic. Unfortunately, the night lady took it upon herself to lay down the law and say that after hours was not an option for us to work out. This obviously was because of the “rule book,” which she was kind enough to wave in our faces after making an exception on one of the nights. She said the new security guard wasn’t “comfortable” with “breaking the rules” and presumably he had something better to do. The resort is hardly in the middle of a seedy neighborhood. Who knows, maybe he had to police geckos or eating doughnuts. A big reason we picked this resort was because of the gym, so it’s super lame not to have access. Definitely look at the other Maui options, this place wasn’t a great overall experience.…
