The Pioneer Inn is a perfect find in Lahaina. We had been going for breakfast for many years and decided to experience the hotel. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the exceptional front desk clerk, we knew we made a great choice. The Inn has the perfect location on Front St. Our room (#49) was on the second floor with a very large wrap around balcony, 2 rocking chairs and was the perfect spot to people watch. We got take out and ate several meals on the balcony enjoying the activity on the street below. The room was a decent size (the Inn is the oldest in Hawaii), the bathroom was well appointed, air conditioning worked properly and the bed was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We always loved the Pioneer Grill in past years but we must say, the new restaurant (first floor facing the harbor) is AMAZING! We enjoyed two breakfasts and lunch there. The new chef has raised the bar exceptionally high, and the staff is top notch. The fruit plate is a work of art. The Ocean Breakfast Bowl and the Crispy Noodle Bowl were favorites! If you are considering time in Lahaina, enjoy a stay at this quaint, historical, and professionally run Inn! Hats off to the staff!!…
We stayed here 3 times in January and February 2020 and it was fantastic. We stayed there January 14 for one night. It's extremely convenient for the whale watching we do with Pacific Whale Foundation too. Appreciate the free parking only a block away. The three ladies at check in we've had the pleasure of seeing from prior stays and were welcoming and very helpful as I had phoned prior to advise we'd be a late arrive (11pm+) and early check out (6:30am). We were able extend our reservation to later that day. Very kind of them. We go back in a few weeks and will be there again!
This cute historic hotel is in wonderful shape considering it’s over 100 years old. Be sure to ask about the history of the hotel and look at all the history Lahaina has to offer. The rooms are fairly compact being a historic hotel but the spacious individual lanais with rocking chairs overlooking the courtyard make a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the old Hawaiian charm, and are nearly the size of a room! Beds are very comfortable and definitely great for a good nights sleep. My room on the courtyard side was very quiet. Just outside the hotel within a block or two is everything you could need, so this hotel is a great location. Numerous shops, eateries and a few parks share the same beautiful historic street as the hotel. You can walk everywhere. There’s also a harbor with lots of excursion options adjacent to the hotel. The staff here is wonderful and the service feels very personal. They checked in with me every time I saw them, wanting to be sure everything with my stay was great. Proactively made suggestions to enhance my stay!…
Stayed a night as we decided to arrive a day early. Location is right on the pier where the whale watches and other boat trips depart. Parking is approximately one block away and pretty easy to find a spot. Check in was friendly (lady working the desk was super nice). Room is good sized and a bit dated. Loved the rocking chairs on the porch, but it is noisy at all hours of the day. Price is right as lodging on Maui is crazy expensive. Breakfast downstairs was outstanding!
Check in was easy. We were able to check in early due to the low occupancy. The room was a bit small, but was very clean and had new carpet. The AC kept the room nice and cool. The bathroom was upgraded and nice. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. I'm a snob when it comes to beds and pillows, and this was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The lanai was roomy and had a nice big rocking chair, where you could sit and enjoy the view of the famous Banyan tree. The only down side to this historic hotel was the stairs leading to the second floor. The management did provide someone to carry my suitcase up the stairs when arriving and down the stairs when I was checking out. The front desk staff on both days were very friendly and made you feel welcome. For me this was a perfect "StayCation", as I live in Kihei. I would diffidently stay again at this hotel again.…
