This is a difficult review. Multiple times things happened that could’ve been easily avoided causing some grief and frustration, however each time the hotel worked with us to remedy the situation. When we first arrived the room was located essentially in what felt like a dungeon. When the curtain was open there was a shrub wall in front of us. We kindly asked if we could be moved into a new room and when we evaluate in the new room the hallway and room smelled like marijuana. It was late and we decided to take the original first room. The following morning we were able to change to a better room. When we walked into the room, a dirty towel was sitting on the toilet from the last guest or cleaning staff. The room had a strange odor. After a while we found that there were four hamburger patties in the microwave, left for who knows how long causing the order. Location is okay. Need to walk across the street to beach. No “beach style” feel to the place. I caters to flight crew. …
Hotel is average at best. The room was nothing special and ground floor no view at all. We booked on Expedia and everything should be in the listed price to see 175$ resort fee charge for nothing is just hotels way to try and keep as much of your deposit as they can and it’s very greedy. Pools nice, restaurant is ok nothing special breakfast is cold, bathrooms small literally can’t use toilet w door open and walk around after shower to open door n dry off.
We stayed for 6 nights, and it was the perfect base for exploring Maui! It's located in the heart of Kihei, so we didn't have to wake up early for any of the diving/snorkeling trips we booked, because everything is within 10 minutes driving distance. A nice public beach is just across the street, which is also a plus.
My friend was getting married in Maui. My other friend and I were bridesmaids. She stayed in a resort and we stayed close by in this hotel. I’m so glad I stayed in hotel versus resort. Most resorts in Hawaii are not all inclusive so there’s no real value to stay in one. The Maui Coast hotel was beautiful, clean, and had so many amenities to offer. My friend and I took advantage of free bike rentals, info sessions about excursions, and a restaurant on site. Our room had a nice balcony too. The staff was nice and helpful.
This is our second trip to Maui Coast Hotel and enjoyed it as much the second trip as the first. It is easy to drive to and from the airport a central location across street from beaches. Restaurants are just few blocks either direction. ABC gas station is couple doors down. Restaurant serves great food and dining by pool. Everything is spotless and very friendly staff. Bikes to use makes it fun to explore.
