When we go to Maui we always stay at Maui Seaside, due to Mattie Gideon. She is so helpful and efficient in making your needs confirmed.. She is so sincere and patience in making sure all your needs are completed. I worked in the hotel industry and it can be challenging but with Mattie Gideon, you know she loves her job. Very hard to find good quality workers and if I owned a hotel ,I literally would offer her to come work for me. She is definitely a keeper and makes a big difference for Maui Seaside .
We will make this our place to stay while visiting Maui. We loved the poolside room and also loved Tante’s restaurant. The vote was nice, beautifully located, wonderful and helpful staff at all times.
Room was claustrophobic without windows and a/c. The a/c and windows were in the living room! Very funky layout. Also, room was at the end of the hotel; hard to locate through a very narrow staircase. The sliding door in the living room was lose and made noises all night long due to the wind
We were promised a room with Garden view! What we got was a view with a strip of grass. That would be acceptable if the room didn’t reek of old damp! It was absolutely disgusting! I don’t understand why would you not air the room if not in use! The stench was repulsive! Bugs in the bathroom were just cherry on a cake! This is not a three star hotel! Two and that’s being generous! Absolutely abhorrent and disgusting! If other hotels weren’t busy I would not stay!
The description of this hotel online was not what it is in person. It’s very basis & old. Refrigerator is on a unlevel shelf, not sturdy at all to hold food & drinks. When you walk in the lobby it is beautiful but the rooms do not match that at all.
Hotel rooms need to be renovated, everything in the room looks old. New carpet, paint and furniture can go a long way. The bathroom tub was dirty, I wore slides so that I didn’t get a foot infection. If you just need a place to crash and everywhere else is booked, one night here won’t hurt. But if you’re looking for overall experience, spend a little more money for quality service and experience.
Stayed here by chance - we missed our flight & ship boarding. So had to find a hotel in Maui. Excellent place - clean, comfy beautiful and the staff went out of their way to help me and my mom get to the hotel from airport and then to the cruiseship in the morning. Thank you so much!!!!
The staff is professional and gracious, We work with corporate account specialist Mattie Matthew-Gideon, she is quick to respond and accommodate our business travel needs that change weekly. We are a Countertop specialty contractor based in Oahu (Top Priority, Inc) and send crews to Maui weekly for various projects we are contracted for. We have always and will forever use Maui Seaside in for our crews overnight travel.
Phenomenal location- centrally located in Kahului with easy access to stores and the bus system, and right on the water, so you can hear the waves at night if you crack a window open. Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room (recently refurbished, I think, with nice furniture, though a somewhat unintuitive light switch setup). My only serious complaint is that the water pressure in the shower was too anemic to rinse off much of anything- even when knocked free by hand, the sand grains I didn't get off at the beach showers mostly just stuck back to my skin a few inches lower. Also, the water temperature could only occasionally rise above "pretty warm" (though thankfully the Hawaii weather is so nice that a warm shower was all I wanted most days).
