Our hotel is about 700 feet from the ocean but with the river mouth just down the road and fishermen fishing off the pier bringing small hammerhead sharks around it is not a place you would want to swim. 3 miles down the road is the longest most beautiful whitesand beach in Hawaii in the town of Kekaha. There is a beach park with a lifeguard and pavilions and 10 minutes away is Salt Pond Beach Park which also has a lifeguard and pavilions and has a protected swimming area.
