If you want to feel like Hawaii probably used to feel before it was over-run by fancy resorts and theme park amenities, this place is for you. Close to hiking, easy walk to Waimea (a historic town), excellent beach.

Waimea Plantation Cottages are lovely. They provide a lovely peaceful relaxing environment. The cottages are rustic, so if you are expecting something new remodeled this probably isn't the place for you, but the cottages are clean and comfortable and provide all the amenities needed. It's only steps to the beach (although it's not a beach that is suitable for swimming,...

My memories at Waimea plantation are of the amazing banyon trees, nightly sunset show and the ever present sound of the surf from the porch of my oceanfront cottage ... I enjoyed so much about it, the proximity of Waimea Canyon, 17 mile beach, and beach walkable to the authetic Hawaiian town of Waimea. Great spot for a single traveller...

We booked this trip in May of 2016 together with good friends. We were in a one bedroom cottage and our friends stayed in a studio. These are time period buildings with amazing history. Incredible to think we were staying in someones actual home! Everything is very clean. You need to understand that this is not a high end all...

Mahalo for your wonderful review. It's a pleasure to hear that you were well taken care of by our staff. We really do pride ourselves on their courteous and accommodating nature. Living in paradise is a great way to explain time spent at the cottages. They are the ideal place for those who want to trade in the stresses of...

Wonderful, relaxing, low key location, beautiful landscape, friendly and responsive staff. The chickens and roosters did not bother us at all and we found them to be quite entertaining. The beach was great for walking and watching dolphins but the cloudy water was not appealing for swimming. However, there is Salt Pond beach park with great amenities and lifeguards nearby....

This was our first time to Kauai and this was a perfect place to relax and explore this part of the island. The Cottages is a quiet place to unwind with a fully functioning kitchen and a lovely porch to relax. It was close to Waimea Canyon, Salt Pond and Poipu Beach. It was also a short walk from town...

If it's peace and serenity you are after this place is a must. As the island can easily be traversed by car we decided to stay away from the crowds and traffic and lodged in Waimea. It is a laid back place with super friendly people eager to offer any assistance. The cottages themselves were clean, well maintained and had...

Having been to Kauai twice before & staying at various large resort complexes, THIS was a very nice change of pace. having a cottage to ourselves was amazing - full kitchen, fridge, coffee machine (with coffee provided) was a nice bonus! Went shopping at the local market and made use of the many gas grills around the compound available for...

Like you mentioned, the cottages offer a level of serenity that really is hard to find anywhere else. One final mahalo for choosing the Waimea Plantation Cottages and we hope you'll join us again...

This is a lovely, quiet and quaint resort. No frills or fancy hotel amenities. Just Hawaii at its best -- and the way it used to be -- simple, welcoming and easy. We had a 2-bedroom cottage at the south edge of the property. It was actually a wheelchair access unit, so it had a ramp up to a side...

Loved it here! Old buildings are so charming and such a nice departure from the typical resort hotels. This environment can only he found here! You can get a Hilton, etc resort anywhere. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Private, individual plantation cottages set on a historic 27-acre coconut plantation in a beachside setting close to Kauai's famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. Each self-contained cottage has been fully restored with modern appliances, full kitchens, and amenities. The simple, comfortable charm, genuine history and beautiful grounds allow guests to enjoy a unique experience unlike any other in the islands. Waimea Plantation Cottages offers beautiful settings for Wedding Celebrations, Anniversaries, Family Reunions, and Corporate Business meetings. Note: The restaurant will be closed temporarily as we remodel and transition the restaurant to a new restaurant operator and will re-open in mid-to-late fall of 2013. We apologize for this temporary inconvenience. During this transition, we suggest trying some of the other dining options in Waimea Town such as Wrangler's Steak House. But do come and try our new restaurant once it reopens! ... more   less
