We stayed with Patrick and Jules from 10-31-2013 to 11-4-2013. We loved the laid back atmosphere of Kauai. Patrick said "you know they got four lane roads over there", reffering to Maui. We should have done it Maui, Kauai. But enough of that. Back to the B&B, Our room was downstairs overlooking the water, by the road, with a nice...

Hale Puka Ana is one of the finest B&B establishments my wife and I have visited. Owners Patrick and Jules McLean showed exceptional integrity when we planned our visit: They were completely open to our questions and withheld nothing. Even then, their service was so good it far exceeded our expectations. Besides being the two most charming hosts we've encountered...

Which is exactly what we wanted. Yes, there is not much night life and you are far from the resorts and crowds of the north shore, but if resorts and crowds annoy you, this is a great place to come. It's true that Polihale beach is better accessed by a four wheel drive vehicle but the plus side is a...

Big Mahalos (thanks) for your 5 star review! As owners and managers we agree with what you say; with one small exception. Kauai is a smaller island than some may realize. In driving to the farthest point from us, it would likely take 90 minutes. Most of our guests appreciate having the best weather at our place and going to...

We decided to choose this place after reading all good reviews and after we stayed there we feel obliged to write our honest opinion. First of all we didn't like the obligation of booking the place for minimum three nights. In our opinion this is too long. We realise that this is not uncommon in Hawaii for B&Bs, however, for...

Mahalo (thanks) Aag681 for providing your “Constructive Criticism”. While we appreciate the input, we would prefer that our guests make their wishes known during their stay; allowing us the opportunity to serve. We’d like to quickly address the points made by this review: 1. “Three nights is too long to stay in West Kauai”- Our average guest stays 5.5 nights....

We stayed at Hale Puka 'Ana adjacent to Labor Day weekend (2012). It's a beautiful location, a very different experience from much of Kauai. We love Kauai and have experienced it from many different approaches, from the St. Regis to tiny inland B&Bs to the old Coco Palms, which seems to sadly be gone forever. There were many great things...

Thank you for taking the time to write your compliments and suggestions. As stated in other responses , the upstairs Lanai is available to guests during times other than breakfast. The beach across the street is seasonal lately. Experts say this is a temporary condition. There are always two beaches within .5 miles of here. If you would like to...

We really enjoyed our stay in this quiet location just across from the beach. Perfect for taking off to the Waimea Canyon and a short drive to the beautiful sunsets we enjoyed on Polihale Beach with hardly a soul in site! Jules and Patrick were wonderful hosts and their breakfasts delicious and fresh for a hearty start on the trails...

This was a welcome surprise. We enjoyed the knowledgeable directions and fantastic breakfasts. We had an idea what we wanted to see, and they provided the detailed directions on how to get there (down to which tree to turn left at). Special touches like fresh papaya from their own trees and bananas to take on a hike made it feel...

Recently had a wonderful 7 night stay here. After a long day of travel we were met by Jules who offered up fruit smoothies which we enjoyed on the lanai overlooking the ocean on the southwest side of the island! Very relaxing pace on the "quiet" side of the island and we enjoyed our breakfast and coffee each morning while...

A lovely comfy B&B with sea views and just across the road from the beach. The lovely Jules made my holiday when she presented the leis and the most welcome fruit smoothie on our arrival. A very good breakfast. It was a nice experience to be there when Jules and Patrick's daughter had her 2nd birthday and to share in...

Such a lovely spot on the west side of the island. We were there for our honeymoon and felt that we had just the right balance of privacy and easy access to helpful hosts. We loved being on the less commercial side of the island, and across the street from a beach we always had to ourselves!
