Good property for the price. Most places on this island are for the wealthy, but this place is a little above average for the common person. A nice walk through a park with nice covered picnic areas and a beautiful Heiau gets you to a...More
From the moment we walked in we loved it . It was open clean and beautiful. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. Our rooms were always kept clean and well stocked. The view from our room was breath taking. My daughter and I loved...More
Main issue: Upon arrival, despite checking in an hour after check-in time, our room was not ready. Had to wait in the open air lobby with our suitcases while they prepared it. I am all for a clean room, and for late checkouts, so I...More

Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your Trip Advisor. Having to wait for a unit to be ready and then to be told you could not check out an hour later is not acceptable.

Wonderful to read about your great stay. Kauai has many places to see and activities to do and being centrally located on the island is one of the pluses for Aston Islander on the Beach.

My husband and I are extremely disappointed with this hotel. From the $10 extra "amenity" charge per day, the non-existent parking and the ridiculous lucy and Ricky Ricardo double beds this placed sucked! Rooms are small, door sounds like aliens invading, shower curtain moldy. And...More

There are at least 3 places close by that rent snorkels and masks by the day or week. One is in the building right to the west side of the Hotel entry. Prices very reasonable - especially by the week. You can get bikes that way too and that's a great way to get around on the East side of the Island. You can rent Kayaks too. Cost is a few dollars a day depending on the type you rent. Go Snooba diving. There's a place on the South side where you use snorkel gear but have a tank follow you on the surface. (And a trained diver.) Doesn't require training and you can get down 15' and stay down. Highly recommend it if you like to dive but aren't trained in Scuba. Cost about $75 per hour per person.
