Well-stocked, nicely furnished condo in the heart of Wakoloa Beach. Home away from home. Gloria at the front desk made our vacation enjoyable. Very clean, very safe. Even pools are open. We ended up not using them, because there are awesome beaches nearby.
We were pleasantly surprised with our rooms and our stay. The room we had was one bedroom and bath with living area and full kitchen. The room was clean and fully stocked with what you would need for an extended stay. Our daughters room was a 2 bedroom suite and it was perfect also and had a beautiful view of the golf course. We each had ground floor rooms which was a plus. The grounds were beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We were close to some amazing beaches, and restaurants and shopping. We had a great time here and I would recommend to anyone.
So, to start out...the rooms are big, very clean and well appointed. We slept very well in the beds and they were super comfortable. The pool has a small water slide and my kids loved it. The thing that was frustrating is that we were hoping for a room with a better view, instead of the parking lot. We asked for an upgrade (and the resort was rather empty due to Covid), and yet the person who checked us in just didn’t find it in her to make the experience feel more exciting. Overall that’s just how it felt. When we booked with RCI we were told ocean views and we’d have access to Hilton’s big swanky property with flamingoes and fun amenities. But when I asked, I was told The Bay club was basically an acquisition, not a true Hilton property. So, clearly RCI was mistaken or something. So while the resort is very nice, it sort of lacked the pizazz aspect for us.…
We were equal parts lucky and smart for when we booked this, when we flew into Kona, and how we asked for an upgrade to a two bedroom unit. We got everything we asked for and/or wanted, including bargain priced golf, less crowds everywhere, and even a traditional Thanksgiving meal, courtesy of Macaroni Grill. Plenty of sunshine made this much needed vacation so satisfying and enjoyable, it may be difficult to top, especially considering the COVID circumstances. Gratitude in abundance.
Going to a property you have not visited previously makes it a challenge on what to take. Small pkgs of starter spices would be valuable, i.e. Worldmark does this. Ample supplies of soap(s) and paper products were available.
