I first stayed here 12 years ago and when I returned to Volcano with my family I had such good memories I booked three rooms for three nights. It's changed a bit. The large common room is gone, along with the breakfast rolls and coffee I remember. But the rooms are still comfortable and the birds are still singing in... More

I stayed at the Lokahi Lodge during a recent stay on the Big Island. At the time, I was distinctly unimpressed with the property. Seemed expensive for what you get - a queen room without aircon for USD150 per night. In hindsight, we'd just come from luxury digs and after a frankly treacherous drive across a fogged in Saddle Road,... More

The room assigned to us in the lokahi lodge way exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, tastefully furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. We left 2 chargers behind. But the manager mailed them to us promptly. The property is very conveniently close to the national park & there are 3 good restaurants nearby including one located in a sister... More

This lodge met our needs to a T. We needed a nice room near the volcano for just one night. It was a charming room. There are only about 9 rooms in this building and there are no services. The check in is in another location and they were real helpful, especially Solomon. Restaurants are close by and this is... More

We have just checked into Lokahi Lodge. The view from our window is amazing. The room is vey spacious, tastefully furnished and way better than what I had expected from the reviews. There are 2 huge beds, a kitchenette, a dining table for 4 & I had only requested a room for 2!

Spotless, characterful accomodation close to all the sites of the Volcano park in a lovely picturesque setting. The Lodge had all the amenities you could need and was clean and well maintained. The instructions for finding the office and the Lodge were easy to follow.

This is a great location to be at if you're going to the national park, especially over two days. It's just a couple of minutes drive from the entrance, so you can go back and forth, have meals in Volcano, wash up, and then go back in to the park to see the glowing crater after dark. The rooms are... More

We wanted to stay in the volcano area for easy access to the national park. When i went to book a hotel i found very limited options(reminded me of Alaska). Based on availability i booked the upstairs room at Lokahi Lodge. Pros are that it sits practically at the gateway to the park and is in a nice rainforest area.... More

We stayed in Volcano just one night in order to visit Volcano National Park and Hilo. Otherwise we are staying on the west side in Kona. It doesn't look like much from the outside and we were expecting something very modest especially for the $112 AARP rate that we paid. The rooms are gigantic and include a mini fridge, microwave,... Excellent experience. Emails from hotel prior to check in gave easy to follow directions. Staff were pleasant and informative on check in. Lokahi lodge is a 5 minute drive from main hotel down a quiet rainforest lane. Room had lovely decor, beds comfortable, amazing bathroom! Beautiful decorative details. Veranda outside room where we enjoyed morning coffee and listened to rainforest... More
