I'm normally a hotel snob, aiming for 4-5 star resorts and such. However, my DH and i decided to go for a more authentic Hawaii experience when visiting the Volcano National Park. Could not have been more pleased here! We arrived a little after their posted checkin time of 3-5p, but the front desk was plenty friendly anyway! You're greeted...

This was such a nice surprise. The room had wooden ceilings and bamboo accents with a wall of windows that overlooked the garden such that it felt like waking up in a treehouse in the middle of the rainforest. There was also a huge bed and a shower built for two! Very romantic. There was even an electric fireplace to...

We too stayed off-site in the Volcano House. The website/reservation indicated as much. Its a 3-4 minute drive after reserving. Room was beautiful, spacious with a coffee/fridge area and step up bathroom and huge shower. Decor was lovely and bed was very comfy. We had no working air con but did not need it for the cool mountain nights. Hot...

Chalet Kilauea is a beautiful, five-room complex tucked into the rain forest just minutes away from Volcanoes National Park. We resided in room 103 for three consecutive nights. The view from the broad windows looked into the koi pond and verdant garden below. The space within the room was incredible compared to most hotels. We had a king size bed...

Stayed here for just one night while seeing Volcano National Park, which is well worth the visit. This mini-hotel sits just off Wright Road, about a mile from the park, perfectly situated. We had Room 3, quaint but spacious enough, with polished wood floors and a delightfully comfortable king. The bath has two bowls and a double sized shower with...

We stayed in room 106, which I think is a honeymoon suite, because THE SHOWER WAS A CAVE!! It was so cool. Everything was thought of: little plates and cups and silver ware since they don't have a cafe... Fridge, microwave, and lots of little unusual details around the grounds that were super cool. There's a koi pond, red gates...

Really loved this accommodation, I had no idea how super cool it was. Absolutely loved the cave decor, it was like living in a lava cave. Best, best comfy bed, super clean (loved the essential oil smell of the room).

Husband and I stayed overnight while visiting the Hilo side of the island, and chose this location due to its reasonable pricing and unique, local feel. I think a big key to satisfaction here is your expectation level going in: we weren't expecting a lavish, luxurious stay and we were sure to select the type of room we wanted and...

We chose to stay here when we couldn't get a room at the Volcano House. We arrived around 1:00 pm. A sign on the door said the office was closed and they would return at 1:30. The sign also said check-in wasn't until 4:00. We waited for the office to open, and explained our situation. We needed to drive to...

We stayed for 2 nights while exploring the National Park and surroundings. Our room was very spacious, offered everything you need during your stay, such as a very comfortable bed, a clean bathroom with a huge shower for 2 (even two rain-shower-heads with individual controls), a small kitchen area and a very effective heating system. The hotel grounds are very...
