This place is so perfect to renew, and to just relax. So close to the Volcano. Within driving distance to the Moku Nui Sunrise Lava Boat Tour. Just all round peaceful. The kitchen area is just enough for requirements. The bathroom is just out of this world. Stay here and you will see what I mean. Oh, and the colourful...

This hotel was in a very quiet area, set amongst beautiful grounds in a stunning area. Whilst the hotel was a little basic and parking was tight, the room was nice. The facilities are very basic, we had to go out for food and there was no bar area, but the local restaurants and bars are of good quality. A...

There seems to be a shortage of decent accommodation near Volcanoes National Park and this slightly quirky place is probably one of the better options. I say quirky because it has an unexpected Japanese theme: a lovely garden with a coy carp pond; and rooms with a vaguely Japanese feel to the decor. The location is excellent, within a few...

This was such a beautiful place to stay close to volcano area. Rain forest setting made it even more serene. Room was very clean, traditional interior design, front office staff was very helpful. Overall a great stay and worth the extra dollars

Very close to Volcanos N.P. In the middle of a rainforest,I enjoyed a peaceful walk each morning. Each room has it own style and character. I only wish we had planned to spend more time there . Highly recommended

There wasn't much to choose from in the area but the chalet was nice enough. The room was cramped but nice. Difficulties arise because there isn't really staff there beyond a few hours a day. We had to drive for an hour to find food and drink after hours. Otherwise it's very convenient for the national park.

Interesting hotel close to Volcano park. The park around is really nice and well maintained, it feels like you are in the rain forest. It's really worth taking the time to walk around. The room was average but very large with a lot of appliances.

Ourroom was clean and comfortable. It was like staying in grandma's attic bedroom. Sounds really carries thro the house, but if you're OK with a few quirks (like faded streaks on drapes, etc)... it's an alright place to stay.

First, LOCATION, since we live on the east coast we were able to get up early enough drive about 7 miles to the park and see the sunrise and then go back to our room (which had a fridge and microwave) to have a quick breakfast and head back out. The hotel did (not sure if they still do) a...

Aloha and thank you for reviewing the Chalet Kilauea on TripAdvisor. It's great to hear that you got to enjoy the huge shower in the room!! The showers are really cool here:) We no longer offer continental breakfast, however, there are multiple restaurant options very close that offer breakfast. Chalet Kilauea was the perfect place to spend a few days while exploring Volcano National Park. The accommodations are a short drive from the park entrance and near local dining options. The room was clean and well-appointed and the staff was friendly and helpful. My only ask would be that they stock the room with better toiletries; bring your own...
