Absolutely lovely little spot. I found the house beautiful, we enjoyed walking next door to see the art on display there, the rooms were nice, staff were friendly. We rented both a family room and a single room, and both were very nice. The breakfast,...More
Stayed at Volcano Inn March 10, 2015 in Mauna Lani room. I was exgtremely jpleased with how clean the Inn was and how helpful and friendly the staff,. The second floor room was huge, had a large bath with windows completely surrounding the room. Just...More
Stayed in the Gecko suite, a half mile from the main property. Some nice features: a pretty hot tub, very close to Volcano National Park, the breakfast area at the main site is well done. But hard to overlook obvious deficiencies: the hide-a-bed so sloped...More
I'll start off by saying that the room was average, but perfectly fine for resting our heads for the night. We were in the older property a short drive from the main part of the inn and the room is probably due for an update...More
Great value and perfecr property for relaxing retreat close to the volcano, we would definately stay there again. We had the two corner rooms, very comfortable, nice people as well. The location is perfect for exploring the Volcano National Park.

Please understand that this is a "Mom and Pop" establishment and that credit card payments actually cost the proprietor money (a percent or two depending on the type of card). This is just one way the Volcano Inn keeps its prices down. This is a small establishment and I would bet they could not afford last minute cancellations (like big hotels can do because they have lots of rooms and are rarely completely full). I have tried many places to stay in Volcano and the Volcano Inn is far above all places that are less expensive as well as several of the more expensive places. I stay at Volcano Inn two the five times a year and have for the past five years. I like to book ahead (and send in my payment) to be sure I can stay there - it is that great! Plus, I like to give business to locals. For its price, the Volcano Inn is the very best bet. They are always very helpful and polite on the phone so if you had a problem with mailing your check from another country you could explain this to them and I bet they would keep your reservation and wait for your check.
