We stayed here in January for five nights. Their policy is: the longer you stay, the less you pay (per night). This worked to our advantage. I rained almost the entire time we were there. (Not the hotel's fault). Even though the pathways to the cabins were lit, it was still very dark. The room was wonderful. The cork floors...

The Volcano Inn is a collection of cottages with a central dining room for breakfast. We stayed in the Nene room which was completely surrounded by forest and has a couple of huge windows looking out onto the undergrowth, so you really feel like you are living in the trees. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed...

We enjoyed our stay. It was for one night. Yes, the breakfast was delicious and the grounds were beautiful. My recommendation to the hosts was to spend a small amount of money to get decent toilet seats. It was shameful. Too bad they seem of over look the small stuff. Also, I would remove the dated mirrors above the bed.

Upon arrival, I was completely disappointed learining the hottub was 90 degrees and the largest bed in my room was not at least Queen size. Admittedly, I don't sleep well with noise. Apparently the walls and ceilings are not sound proof in the rooms below the main office and dining area? I heard snoring in the room next door, waste...

We stayed in the Caldera suite -- which was both the second and third floors of the building we were in. It was wonderful because when we looked out our back windows all we could see were tree tops and tops of giant ferns. It has an ample kitchenette and a very large L-shaped couch so we could both stretch...

Whatever you do, don't waste your money staying anywhere else! Upon arriving, we took off our shoes, to enter into the most gracious and cozy little 'hotel.' The rooms are large and wide open. The water gets very hot. They do everything possible to accommodate you! They even have a hot tub and you get to relax in the jungle....

Go to the well known volcano house for a cocktail or nightcap and view the volcano at night. Then drive five minutes to volcano inn and save hundreds of dollars while staying at a friendly B and B that's a 1/4 mile from the two best meals in the area- Thai food truck and Kilauea Resturant. The plastic covered pillows...

Fantastic for easy access to the National Park. Lovely breakfast of scrumptious pawpaw and freshly baked banana bread in communal living area, also stocked with a good range of board games. The first room we were allocated was uninhabitable due to mould. It was on the ground floor and quite dark, hence lots of mould? Second room offered was better...

Volcano per se is ideally located for visiting the national park. If you wish to look at the lava lake at night - which is definitely the better time - it is only five minutes drive in pitch dark compared to more than an hour from Hilo. Volcano Inn itself is nested in the middle of the fern forest (at...

Volcano Inn is located in Volcano village, only a mile from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is inexpensive and breakfast is included in the room rate, although the breakfast is the same every day and although delicious, would be nice to have a little variety after a few days. Rooms are clean and comfortable, although half the...
