Ok, really, if you’re coming to the big island, why wouldn’t you want to stay in a place named Volcano? This was our first night on the island, off the plane, grab a rental car and drive! We headed straight across the island right between...More
We have been to this Inn twice and had a great visit each time. The cabins are clean and offer great views of Rainforest. Hot Tubs are clean and comfortable. Breakfast offered is nice touch of fresh coffee, banana bread and papaya. Don't stay in...More
I stayed at the Volcano Inn this past weekend, and to say it was stunning wound be an understatement! Despite some sensationalized online reports to the contrary, there is absolutely NO issues with air quality, highway access, ash, or lava at Volcano Village. In fact,...More
I want to say first that I am very flexible traveler. I camp and I love a rustic experience for the right money. We stayed one night. We were greeted by Shelby and she was wonderful! She was friendly and informative. We had to leave...More
Was woke up at 5:30 in the morning with slamming cupboard doors and stomping feet... Apparently it was someone setting up breakfast or something. Also was not expecting to have to leave my shoes outside to walk into a hotel.

Please understand that this is a "Mom and Pop" establishment and that credit card payments actually cost the proprietor money (a percent or two depending on the type of card). This is just one way the Volcano Inn keeps its prices down. This is a small establishment and I would bet they could not afford last minute cancellations (like big hotels can do because they have lots of rooms and are rarely completely full). I have tried many places to stay in Volcano and the Volcano Inn is far above all places that are less expensive as well as several of the more expensive places. I stay at Volcano Inn two the five times a year and have for the past five years. I like to book ahead (and send in my payment) to be sure I can stay there - it is that great! Plus, I like to give business to locals. For its price, the Volcano Inn is the very best bet. They are always very helpful and polite on the phone so if you had a problem with mailing your check from another country you could explain this to them and I bet they would keep your reservation and wait for your check.
