Go to the well known volcano house for a cocktail or nightcap and view the volcano at night. Then drive five minutes to volcano inn and save hundreds of dollars while staying at a friendly B and B that's a 1/4 mile from the two best meals in the area- Thai food truck and Kilauea Resturant. The plastic covered pillows...

Fantastic for easy access to the National Park. Lovely breakfast of scrumptious pawpaw and freshly baked banana bread in communal living area, also stocked with a good range of board games. The first room we were allocated was uninhabitable due to mould. It was on the ground floor and quite dark, hence lots of mould? Second room offered was better...

Volcano per se is ideally located for visiting the national park. If you wish to look at the lava lake at night - which is definitely the better time - it is only five minutes drive in pitch dark compared to more than an hour from Hilo. Volcano Inn itself is nested in the middle of the fern forest (at...

Volcano Inn is located in Volcano village, only a mile from the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It is inexpensive and breakfast is included in the room rate, although the breakfast is the same every day and although delicious, would be nice to have a little variety after a few days. Rooms are clean and comfortable, although half the...

We have probably never stayed in such a unique lodging. Our room was a "corner window room", across the highway from the main lodge and so hidden in the forest that we were a little apprehensive when we first arrived. But it turned out to be super clean, cozy and had all the basic amenities - small fridge, coffee maker...

Location, location, location! If you are looking for a place right at the Volcanos National Park this may be a great choice. The inn is located basically in the rainforest, I have never seen ferns this tall! Upon check in we had to make our ways to the other campus at the other end of the highway in pitch dark...

Would you stay at the worst room in a hotel cheaper than Motel 6? We wanted a hotel to stay near Volcano National Park on the big island of Hawaii, entered a date, and TripAdvisor listed available hotels and rates. The only hotel within the park was Volcano House, and the rate was $300+. And this is not your 4...

We loved this sweet inn! The staff was fantastic, so kind, helpful and welcoming. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The inn is a beautiful, rustic retreat in the middle of the rain forest. We look forward to our next stay!

Very nice place to stay while visiting Volcano National Park. Very good breakfast with nice pastries, interesting fruits, cereal, coffee, tea, etc. Our room was offsite but in a nice spot surrounded by tropical vegetation. Perhaps because of the humid conditions and the fact that the room may have been empty for a few days, the room seemed musty but...

Thanks for staying with us and glad you enjoyed your time up here in the Volcano rain forest. It is a constant battle against too much moisture here in the rain forest which is why we do have dehumidifiers in every room. Hope you choose to stay with us again in the future. Aloha!

I stayed 10/23 - 10/26/16. I thought it was a great deal. The free breakfast was delicious - Papaya fruit with yogurt, banana chips, and almond chips. I ate 3-halves my last day. The hot tub was a godsend after a long day of hiking and bike-riding. The room had a beautiful rain forest view with large windows, and opening...

Aloha, Thanks for staying with us! Glad you enjoyed the breakfast as well, the banana bread is dangerous! Most Hawaii residents use weedwhackers or weedeaters because the grass is often wet, mowers get bogged down with wet grass often. It can be frustrating, sorry it disturbed your otherwise pleasant stay! Hope you choose to stay with us again in the...
