We had a wonderful stay at the tree house. The location is great for visiting Volcanoes National Park while still close to Hilo. If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, I recommend staying here.

If you are looking for a typical hotel room, this might not be for you. If you are looking for an awesome experience then check this place out. The rooms are located literally in a beautiful rainforest. The room wasis a little quirky (for instance the hot water in the shower was not steady) but those little things are more...

Our experience at the Volcano Tree House was exceptional. The room was nicely decorated, clean, quite, secluded, and the grounds stunning. The location was perfect, just a couple miles away from the park entry. The Inn is charming, quaint and the staff absolutely exquisite, as they paid every attention to detail. I have never experienced a better/bigger breakfast in a...

My husband and I visited the Big Island of Hawaii and fell in love with the beaches at Waikoloa but not until we visited Volcano National Park did we have the time of our lives. We stayed at the Volcano Tree House, what an experience!! It was literally up in the trees, so quaint with no TV, just the two...

What a magical place to begin our trip! We spent two nights in the Tree Top Suite and wish we'd had time to spend a few more. We arrived late at night to find the room lit up & beautiful music playing... it was a little chilly at first, but we closed the many beautiful windows and finally figured how...

First, the pros. This is really a unique location - we stayed on the second floor and woke up to the gentle sounds of birds chirping. Looking out the window, we were surrounded by tree ferns. Beautiful and definitely not something we get at home in the big city. It was very private, safe and the other reviews are correct...

If you have reviewed the Volcano Treehouse web site, you only received a preview of what awaits you at the volcano tree house. The craftsmanship of this unique complex is remarkable. We stayed in the tree top suite. A cozy fire and soft music greeted us upon entry. Our romantic hide away was perched above the tree ferns with an...

Secluded B&B (2 story) surrounded by lovely rain forest trees. All you hear are the sounds of birds. Soothing outdoor sitting area high up in the trees with practically no traffic. Gary prepares a great papaya boat treat for breakfast at the other B&B location (5 minute walking distance). Great location for exploring the park and four decent restaurants in...

My husband and I stayed here on the final leg of our honeymoon (we toured around Hawaii staying in various Bed and Breakfasts). Gary was the FIRST and ONLY innkeeper to wish us a happy honeymoon... he even went so far as to upgrade us to the treetop suite! The room was gorgeous -- you really are in the midst...

Do not miss the Volcano Treehouse, situated in the tree canopy in the Hawaiian rainforest. Gary, the innkeeper is the warmest host and makes the best papaya-boat breakfast. 1 mile to Volcanoes National Park and minutes to three great restaurants in Volcano Village. Take a sweater...it gets cool!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Look out your window and see giant tree ferns (hapu'u) greeting your arrival, just inches from your eyes. Volcano Tree House was built among the trees to preserve Hawaii's spectacular native rainforest. Reach out and touch ohia trees from your deck as you listen to native songbirds. This is the place to come to get away from it all and reconnect with nature and your inner spirit. Choose from two studios and one suite, all with private entrances. ... more   less
