My wife and I spent 9 days at the Lava Tree Tropic Inn in the month of October, 2012. The rooms were clean, quiet, and roomy. Ours had it's own bathroom. Irene the owner was lovely to talk to and helpful to direct us to attractions. The breakfasts were awsome with natural ingredients and great conversation with travelers from all...

What a fabulous B and B. The setting is just beautiful with tropical plants, flowers and trees. Irene, the inn keeper, is the perfect host preparing a multi course home made breakfast with great coffee. Much of the breakfast is right from the fruit and vegetable trees on her property. If you love nature then this is the place to...

I am quickly going to start with a bit of advice: DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS NAVIGATION TO THIS PLACE-- FOLLOW IRENE'S DIRECTIONS!!! The inn is on a private road and your gps will lead you astray as it did to me. I just returned home from my second trip to the Lava Tree Inn... I miss the place already,...

This place is a gem! We were in the area "Lava Tree Park" and I read so much about it online I wanted to check it out. This place is an oasis! What a divine location!!! You have to drive on a one lane gravel road to get there, that helps to add to the quiet and peacefulness of the...

The location is beautiful, surrounded by lush vegetation, it's also in reasonable proximity to take a lava hike or go to the Volcanoes NP. Breakfast is excellent and the host Irene is really very nice. Just be aware, that only one room has a private bathroom, the other 4 double rooms share two bathrooms, breakfast usually only finishes by 10...

Irene was so kind and welcoming and did everything she could to make us feel welcome in this big home set on a huge estate of tropical trees. Breakfasts on the lanai were pleasant, full of good conversation, and lengthy. Our room, the Sunset Palm room, is the smallest and least expensive, but was bright, clean, and pleasant and quite...

Just say "aahh" as you sink one of the lanai (porch) chairs and absorb the quiet beauty of the vegetation and gardens surrounding this lovely estate. Irene adds to the luxury with a breakfast of many courses.. just when we thought we were finished..out came the quiche and then another plate of local fruit! The rooms are spacious and nicely...

I loved my short stay at this delightful bed and breakfast during the holidays. I live on the Big Island and don't often get to be treated like an honored traveller from a far-off land. Irene is remarkable, kind, inspiring. Her garden - I appreciate Hawaiian gardens - is wonderful, and the variety of delicacies from the garden that arrived...

The place is amazing, Irene is amazing, and you meet the most wonderful people. My wife and I stayed here a half dozen years ago, have been thinking of returning ever since, and just spent a wonderful four more days. Your experience starts when you drive in underneath overhanging trees and past a metal gate showing the four elements of...
