Cozy cottages holding history of the Island. We stayed in half of an old school teachers home with three bedrooms. We enjoyed being away from tourist centers with easy access to Volcano National Park. Keep in mind..... Roosters. Just put the big fan in the window and the white noise will drown them out. We loved our stay and out...

We were under the impression that the cottages were all grouped together on one property- but, they were not. Duplex like home on a lot in a residential lot, with no driveway, parked cars on lawn, neighbors parked school bus on lawn, rooster farm next door, unable to sleep as roosters singing all day and night, dogs barking and other...

The owner was friendly and accommodating. However, the home we stayed in had seen better days-in need of updates, new linens, and new towels. I think there are a variety of properties associated with the plantation cottages, some better than others. I would ask for pictures of the specific residence you are renting, as the photos online did not represent...

Our cottage turned out to be a large comfortable nostalgic building. Lots of old memorabilia items about. Interesting to look at and lots and lots of space. We spent the day at nearby Volcano National Park and arrived at our cottage late in the evening. The host had placed a welcome sign on the door with our name on it...

The cottage was nice. The beds were nice and soft. Our neighbors were loud and there was someone walking in the cottage right next to us it stared at 10 pm and ended at 4am. It was annoying and we would wake up a lot. We also heard 2 gun shots right next to us. They were loud and scarey....

This is a very old store converted into a "lodge" style cottage. Rooms are lovely and quaint. Two double bedrooms, one room with twin beds. There are a couple of cots in the closet. 2 bathrooms, new washer & dryer. New refrigerator, new stove. Large family/dining area. Several little conversation spots. This is a sweet place, and especially so for...

Nice large 3 bedroom house stayed for 2 weeks very relaxing and clean Please keep in mind that Pahala is a local neighborhood not a vacation destination it has a small market and drug store and no restaurant's or tourist attractions I enjoyed my stay here listening to roosters and seeing geko's scampering about the house was filled with vintage...

Very friendly hosts and a great little bungalow to stay in. Set in a very neighborly village, close to major attractions: Volcanos National Park, black sand beach and Kau Kona Coffee Plantation/Mill. Away from the tourist rat race and feeling like we're getting a very good slice of local life in Hawaii.

The plantation house was home for my work team for about a week. What a great place to relax after work! There was plenty of space for ten people (even for a group like ours that didn't know each other well) and it felt like we'd ended up in 'old Hawaii.' The historic ambience was delightful. There's no A/C and...

We absolutely loved our two-day stay here. We booked a two-bedroom cottage, but were informed by text the day before our arrival that we had been upgraded to the plantation house. So this review is for the house and setting. The house itself is a 100 year old plantation mansion with about 7 bedrooms, huge kitchen, sitting room, den and...
