We had a great stay here. We were lucky to get one of the units with a fabulous view of the water, and also of the pool. The unit was very spacious and comfortable. The only odd thing was that the TV was on one wall and the sofa was quite far away, attached to the Murphy Bed, so it...

If you book through timeshare(1/2 of resort) you'll get a predictable experience. The other half are privately owned and rented through various pools. Some are updated some are not. Some are well equipped, some are not. We found place on Airbnb but upon making enquiry of manager, were told to book through their own website. Problem is, there is no...

We are currently at this location and are enjoying the stay. The resort has 74 units and 28 of them are managed by vacation international while others are privately owned. We stayed in a studio unit 34 and I was amazed how large it was. Our kids slept on the pull out couch and we had a double bed which...

FIrst visit to this resort. IT is very quiet there. The outside of the buildings look dated but the inside was great. The staff are very helpful. The golf building across the street needs to be just torn down, in very poor shape. We had heard something was going to be done with it. No grocery store just nearby but...

We spent 14 nights here in February 2017.It was a LONG drive from Kona.It is recommended to fly into Hilo but we had poor connections from Saskatchewan! The check in process was very efficient. The condo is beautiful. The unit we stayed in didn't have air conditioning . The trade winds negated the need for ac at night but the...

We have not stayed at the Colony Resort, but have played the golf course a couple of times. The first time we played it was about 20 years ago, and we were shocked then to find the course appearing basically abandoned. The clubhouse was closed and appeared to have been damaged at sometime. If you hunted around, you came across...

We initially booked #49-a nice remodeled upper unit-and were so impressed with this location that we booked #58 (an even nicer 2 bedroom!) for our last week on the island rather than going back to crazy Kona! Every time we snorkeled at beautiful black sand beach-a nice 5 minute walk-we saw MANY green turtles feeding. Amazing to watch! Lots of...

Colony 1 at Sea Mountain provided a comfortable stay during our bicycle trip around the Big Island. The condos there are spacious and a bit luxurious. Kitchens are well equipped and stocked with the basic tools. (There are no restaurants within a moderate biking distance, so come prepared with some groceries.) The community pool and especially the hot tub were...

We loved #49 Black Sand Beach Condo (owned by Selena). Our five nights there were exactly right for us. While we didn't use the beach for sun bathing, we did enjoy the pool. View from the pool was beautiful, views from the balcony beautiful as well. The kitchen is updated, the washer/dryer appears new, bathroom was spacious. Wifi, tv worked...

My Wife and I stayed at #56 Bruce's place and lived the view, the condo was set up perfectly and was quite comfortable. We were concerned about the bedroom being downstairs and out of the wind flow. But it was very comfortable and a bit chilly at times. The condo is layed out wonderfully as well and you just cannot...
