My husband and I recently stayed in the Garden Studio and highly recommend a stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. The Garden Studio is even more inviting than the excellent photos show. All the woodwork and shelving helps it feel cozy and warm. The bed is very comfortable. The bathroom’s spacious with a rain shower. The breakfast is good and it’s nice to be able to enjoy it at any time. There’s a lovely sheltered patio which was comfortable even in cooler temperatures. The grassy common area overlooking a pretty stream is also a nice place to relax. What makes this bnb most special are the owners Barbara and Charlie. They are kind, informative, and responsive. They identified the interesting kalij pheasants on their property along as well as beautiful plants and flowers. They recommended restaurants (Pau and Merriman’s both great ) and places to explore. We’ll certainly return if we visit Waimea again. …
I am not given to superlatives; however, superlatives fit for Waimea Gardens. My husband’s turkey hunt at Parker Ranch was our reason for being in the Waimea/Kamuela area in March 2019. I chose The Ohana Suite at Waimea Gardens based on their Web site, which accurately represents this lovely B&B. Everything about Waimea Gardens is immaculate - inside and out. The landscaping is extraordinary, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Barbara and Charlie are gracious and accommodating hosts. If we go to the Big Island again, Waimea Gardens will definitely be our home-away-from-home.
Most relaxing vacation we have ever had. The private lanai of the Ohana Suite was perfect for taking in the views, and reading a book with a glass of wine. Excellent proximity to town, and nearby beaches. Barbara and Charlie are the most wonderful hosts with the most endearing property. We will definitely be back!
I found Waimea Gardens after weeks of sleuthing on TripAdvisor and elsewhere and it was exactly as described. Our cottage, I think the least expensive accommodation there, was incredibly luxurious and comfortable (bed/pillows especially!), and they stock your fridge with fresh eggs from their chickens, English muffins, fresh local fruits, coffee. The owners, Barbara and Charlie Campbell, are delightful.
With the park closing, I needed to change plans, and we decided to move our two nights up to Waimea. Luckily there was a cottage open at Waimea Gardens. It’s located a few minutes outside of town, set back off the main road, and about 15 minutes from the coast. Parking is in front of the main house and cottages, on a circle around the tree at the end of the driveway. We had the Waimea Cottage. There was a refrigerator, sink, microwave, coffee maker, and portable electric cooking plate in the kitchen area. The rest of the cottage had a loveseat, chair, TV, table with 4 chairs, and a queen bed. The bathroom was good size with 2 sinks separated. There were two outside sitting areas. A covered porch off the kitchen, and a good size patio off the living room area with two chairs. The communal backyard has a number of chaise lounges for use to sit by the beautiful creek, and look out to the mountains in the distance. Coffee, and a small variety of breakfast items in the fridge, and refilled each day. Barbara was terrific. She came out to greet us when we pulled in, explained everything we needed to know, and stopped back to say goodbye before we left. Highly recommended.…
