We stayed in the Bali Hai suite and its was perfect for the 4 night stay. The bed was comfortable, although very high. There was a little step by the bedside to help getting up. Everything was clean and Bill and Gay couldn't do enough to please us. Gay even entertained us with a hula at breakfast one morning. This...

My husband and I recently stayed at the Hilo Honu Inn and it was everything wonderful everyone had indicated in their reviews & more! This was a trip to Hawaii for our anniversary. We split our time between the Big Island (our first visit) and Kauai (where we had honeymooned). Although Kauai has a special place in our hearts, we...

The Hilo Honu B&B is a very special place. Gay and Billy, the owners, go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and well-fed--whether it's breakfast at their place (delish!) or recommending restaurants. We stayed in the smaller downstairs room, which was perfectly suited to our needs. If you're visiting Hilo, this is the place to be.

Sadly, we satyed only 2 nights at the Hilo Honu Inn. Billy & Gay are perfect hosts. They are easy going, welcoming and are sincerely interested in making sure that your stay showcases the best in Hawaiian culture and meets your expectations. They kindly share beach gear and other amenities that might make your stay easier. They even lent us...

My husband and I arrived in Hilo a few hours prior to check in and we decided to stop in (to make sure we could find the place-which is actually very centrally located) and we were pleasantly surprised to find our most gracious host, Gay ready to check us in! Their home is immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and spacious. We...

Upon arriving, my wife and I were struck by how well kept the outside and the inside of this house is. Bill & Gay were the most gracious hosts and by the time you leave, it feels like you are leaving your own home. Not to mention that the breakfastes were delicious. I had to stop myself from wanting to...

In January our family of 4 stayed the the Hilo Honu. The reviews listed reiterate our feelings for this lovely B&B. We booked the Samurai Suite which has 2 rooms (1 king bed & 2 singles), a huge bathroom with 2-person soaking tub and separate shower. The beds are amazingly comfortable - was like sleeping on a cloud. The main...

The Hilo Honu Inn is a wonderful B&B. Gay and Bill, the proprietors, take hospitality to the next level! From the delicious gourmet breakfasts of fresh smoothies, fresh fruit, hot banana bread, and french toast/pancakes, to the beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms, everything here was perfect. Also, the location was very convenient to just about all of the major sights and...

We stayed 3 nights at the Hilo Honu (in the Honu's Nest room), and could not have been happier with our stay. From a warm & friendly, but appropriately low-key welcome (when we arrived following ~18 hours of travel from the mainland) to an invitation to feel free to swing back by the inn later in the day if we...

Our opinions echo what others say. We did our homework (trip advisor and other sites) before we came. We're not great fans of beds and breakfasts, wanting to be on our "own." But it was obvious that the hotels in Hilo do not measure up, I was sold when I called Gay and she gave me all kinds of help...
