Steve and Sue have two wonderful suites that overlook the Hilo Bay and Pacific Ocean. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. Steve's Breakfasts focused on the local fruits, highlighted by his artistic fruit arrangements. He also offered smoothies. We had breakfast serve on a large porch opening to Ochid Tree's tropically landscaped yard and pool. Steve could not have...

I found this place due to all hotels being booked ten months before my trip to Hilo for The Merrie Monarch Festival. It is exactly like it looks in the pictures, but better. There are two separate suites, each with its own private entrance. I was in the Koi Suite. There is ample room; a sitting area with a couch...

The Orchid Tree Bed and Breakfast is truly a Hawaiian Dream. The hosts, Steve and Su take you in like you are a member of their family. The breakfasts are to die for. You get up in the morning to the smell of fresh coffee and such quiet that it almost makes your ears hurt. Breakfast is served promptly at...

I should start by saying that a trip to the big island should include a stay in Hilo, and when in Hilo this place is a must. Steve is a terrific host with tons of great local knowledge and stories. The house is well equipped with everything you need, close to surf and a short drive to town. I had...

Our stay at Orchid Tree was the perfect way to end our Hawaii adventure. The room was very pleasant, nice touches with the decor, and most importantly a comfortable bed. Steve the owner made a killer fruit platter for breakfast, plus yummy waffles, and gave us great local tips on what to do. The pool was nice, and we enjoyed...

We stayed 5 nights. The fruit platter, assorted breads and cereal at breakfast are so good; a great way to start the day. We stayed in both rooms and both are spacious and comfortable. This place is very quiet with beautiful outdoor amenities. Recharge on the lanai or by the pool. Use the hot tub after a busy day of...

My husband and I loved staying in the Koi suite for three nights. It was clean, peaceful, safe, and most importantly, we felt very welcome from the owner. Steve is such a nice guy and gave us tips and local history for our trip that you won't find in books or travel guides. Some small B&B owners are very much...

Just spent two nights at the Orchid Tree. Stay was fantastic. We arrived early and Steve was very flexible allowing us an early check in. Room was great - large with nice bedding, very good bathroom and fluffy towels and, best of all, a great view to wake up to. Each morning on the house veranda we had a very...
