We stayed one night at Aaron's Cottages while visiting Volcano's National Park after reading some positive reviews here. We were NOT disappointed. We wanted to "live like a local" for the limited time we were on the big island and we met that goal. The hotel was about a 6 minute drive to Hilo Airport (ITO) and a block walk...

Clean, comfortable rooms, with fridge in room and access to a shared kitchen. Good breakfast items for self-use including fresh eggs from the host's chickens. Friendly hosts. We only had one night in Hilo and this was an option we'd use again.

We stayed here for 2 nights as we needed something close to the airport and not too far from the volcanoes park. This place was perfect and exceeded all of our expectations. Now if you are looking for a 5 star resort, this is not the place, nor are you paying enough here to expect that. However if you are...

Our stay started off on a confusing note: we've stayed at a number of B&Bs, but we've never had to hunt around for our hosts before, until our stay at Aaron's Cottage. Eventually we found a note attached to our front door and got settled. Not too long later we met one our hosts, Alan, who was very friendly and...

We did not get the meet the owners, we arrived at 4PM and there was no one to check us in and we left in the early morning. Just an envelope with our names and some instructions about how to get in. We stayed in the room across the kitchen. The room was very dirty. The mattress was falling apart....

There is a community kitchen that is stocked with condiments and snacks You won't...

This is a steal! The location is great with the beach just a short walk from the property. We walked down each evening and the first trip we saw a beautiful turtle beached. Penne and Alan are incredibly friendly and made our stay incredibly enjoyable. We called ahead to ask if we could store our luggage and without hesitation were...

We were getting into Hilo late after a long day traveling from the east coast, so we were just looking for a cheap place to stay near the airport, and Aaron's was the cheapest decent looking spot I could find. Turned out to be a highlight of the trip, and a great way to start a visit to Hawaii. The...

This was my first time on the Big Island and I'm used to staying in big hotels, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect with Aaron's Cottage. What a nice surprise it was - I really felt like I was visiting a Hawaiian home. As others have said it's only a short drive from Hilo airport so perfect if...
