We stayed one night in a private room--perfectly serviceable as a private room in a hostel. The vibe here is great, Aloha-friendly, nice simple continental breakfast in the morning, great location within walking from town.

Rooms a bit rough around the edges but our overall stay was great. Delicious free breakfast and great staff. Clean kitchen to cook in. We had a private room with bathroom for $70. Walking distance to downtown shops and waterfront.

We had such a wonderful 4 days stay at the Wild Ginger in Hotel in Hilo, that we wanted to share our impressions with you. The Wild Ginger In Hotel is a really authentic and quiet place not too far from Hilo airport, that makes it an ideal hotel to come and discover Hawaiian volcanoes. The place was clean and...

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. It reminded me of "I love Lucy" times. I stayed in the hostel where my bunk had a nice view of the ocean. And there is a nice courtyard full of fruit trees which they harvest for breakfast along with home baked cakes, etc. In fact, on one trip to Hilo i...

I stayed here for a couple of weeks while traveling around the island. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a budget hotel with continental breakfast and a public kitchen area. The service is prompt, and the setting is beautiful and relaxing. The peaceful seating area has fast internet, and a very pretty view of the trees...

I have stayed at the Wild Ginger mulitple times this year with my wife. We have never had a single problem what so ever. The prices are some of the best around and you have an amazing view of the ocean plus a great staff. The Big Island is all about culture and local businesses, these people treated us like...

Stayed here for 2 nights during my stay in Hilo. Pretty cool place to stay, great staff and adorable dog! Would recommend wearing a noise protection during night if you are a light sleeper. The place is surrounded by peaceful jungle and the little creatures can get a little loud at night. I personally love the unique sounds these frogs...

My experience was by far most memorable and unique of my time in Hawaii here at wild ginger inn. Waking up to have coffee with the continental breakfast while listening to Hawaiian jams still makes me smile. Will never forget the coconut rice pudding and Hannah the pretty prissy little princess Chihuahua family dog. Not only was the view of...

If you're looking for the Hilton, go to Kona. There is none of that in Hilo. Instead, Hilo has some really unique and special places: the Wild Ginger Inn being one of them. It may be a little rustic for some folks, but for me I thought it was the perfect Island-style place to stay. The Wild Ginger has an...

I stayed for a number of days in the girls hostel at the Wild Ginger Inn. It has a bathtub, and great two mirror, two sink set up. It over looked the great green space available for lounging. The free breakfast included had wonderful fresh papaya, homemade coconut rice dish I adored, plus plenty of bananas, breads and things. The...
