This was a last minute camping accommodation good find. It is located a little way out of Hilo, so you need a car, (they do provide complementary parking), but definitely the place to stay if visiting Hilo. Friendly and helpful staff, quiet location with immaculate grassy & shady area for tents. Facilities for campers is excellent; complementary soaps, shampoo/conditioners provided...

- about the location, it was quite far from downtown (1h walk and 45 minutes walk to the nearest restaurant) so you had better have a car or take the bus (last bus is at 4pm). - about the rooms, it is clean, but if you choose "open dorm" you will be sleeping in the hallway next to the kitchen...

Aloha Emma, thanks for your feedback. Some guests assume that we are located close to downtown but we are actually 4 miles away from the town of Hilo. We are sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your stay with us as we would've helped you in making other accommodation arrangements that would work best for you. Our open dorm...

This is an excellent choice if you are touring Mauna Kea and the Volcanoes National Park. We needed a place to stay so that we could do the tours (which we did through the lodge - highly recommended). The tours themselves were excellent - small group, personal, very accommodating and we had awesome guides Ikaika and Lauren. They were hilarious...

As there aren't many hotels in Hilo, Arnott's lodge stood out, especially as we got a discount on our Mauna Kea tour with them. We had a one bedroom suite, which was basically a two bedroom suite with one bedroom door locked. This had a kitchen and a lounge. So, we had a lot of space, but a small bedroom...

Aloha to our guests from Oswestry! Mahalo for the thorough review. We are happy to hear that Arnott's Lodge met your needs during your stay in Hilo. The suite that you were in could easily be converted to a semi-private room, a 1BR suite and a 2BR suite so that we could give our guests more options to rooms. We...

Very professional, clean and quiet place to stay. The staff are really nice and helpful. All of the facilities are good and maintained well. After seeing few places at the area, this is one of the best choices you can have. Notice you must have a car as it's a bit out of town.

Aloha to our guest from Israel! Mahalo for the review. We do our best in making our guests feel at home and keeping our facilities clean. We are about 4 miles out of town so hiring a car is ideal but there's also the bus and hiring our bikes for just $10 a day! We welcome you back soon on...

We spent 3 nights at arnott's and we highly appreciated location, employees friendliness. We had a suite for a family of four, well equipped and clean. This is definitively a good place for medium budget, I would recommend.

We chose Arnott's because it had relatively good reviews and was a decent price. While it was no surprise that it leaned toward a hostel type of accommodation, there was the option of a private room with its own bath. We arrived on a stifling hot & humid day and were hoping for some relief in our room. The main...

Aloha to our guests from Portland. Mahalo for the honest review. You could say that we are more on the rustic side as we do not claim to be a resort and as our website states we are a no frills lodge. Electricity is extremely high in Hawaii therefore we try our best to keep our costs low and do...

I stayed in a deluxe room, and while the room and bath are small, it was clean and the bed and air conditioner made for a comfortable stay. It is close to a few very nice beaches where snorkeling is done.

“The suite in which we had a semi-private room had tile floor throughout so sound travelled very efficiently. If there had been others staying in the suite I probably would have used earplugs just in case others were up and about when I was sleeping, but they weren't necessary when it was only us. The bed was a bit soft, but in good condition.”
