People were lovely, very accomodating! Would happily stay here again and the staff were quite flexible with organising tours and providing local information. Great value for Hawaii and quite acceptable Internet

Aloha and mahalo for your review. We look forward to you staying with us on your next trip to Hilo. I'm happy to hear that we were able to provide excellent service to you. We've just improved our complimentary Wifi in majority of our rooms and glad to hear it was acceptable. Mahalo again for the 5 star rating. Aloha

Good service & a true hostel experience. We had booked the deluxe twin room, but it had some problems so the staff kindly upgraded us to the deluxe queen room for the remainder of our stay. The twin room is very tiny, located at a noisy spot near the front of the building, and had a persistent sewer smell in...

Aloha and mahalo for taking the time to review Arnott's Lodge & Hiking Adventures. It states on our website that the deluxe twin room is on the cozier side. Our 1BR suite with twin beds are a lot spacious plus you have a kitchenette all to yourself. We have a variety of books in the deluxe living room library and...

We were only staying in Hilo for one night while on the Big Island and a waitress had suggested Arnott's to us. We were two couples, over 60 years of age and the very helpful Receptionist suggested that we stay in the "Deluxe Rooms" with a private bathroom. We weren't expecting much and that's what we got. I think the...

Aloha and thanks for your review. We are constantly upgrading our units and our deluxe rooms are our most popular as these rooms have it's own private bathroom but shared kitchenette. Our price for this type of accommodation is the lowest in Hilo! But we also have our deluxe suite and our 1BR suite at $99 a night. Thanks again...

As others have noted, this isn't a luxury hotel, it's a kind of funky (and maybe a little shabby) lodge that accommodates all kinds of travelers. Our private suite had an air conditioned bedroom with a refrigerator, a living room with a single bed, a small table and two rather uncomfortable chairs, a well equipped kitchen and a bathroom with...

Aloha, and mahalo for your review! We appreciate your honest opinions, and we use all of these reviews when we consider making any changes. Arnott's Lodge is an older building, but it is constantly being cleaned and improved upon. We may not be a luxury hotel, but we don't advertise ourselves as such, either! We are happy to be a...

I had a great stay at Arnotts! Here only for a few nights in a semi-private room, the rooms are lovely and clean, the wifi is great, and I participated in two of the tours the Lodge had to offer. I ended up being the only one on the Volcano National Park Tour and Ikaika was a great and knowledgeable...

The beds were comfortable and the hostel was clean. The staff was really nice and have great ideas for food and snorkeling. The place had a great vibe and there was an older crowd there that went to bed early and woke up early which was perfect for me.

Our group of 13 thoroughly enjoyed most all that Arnott's had to offer--particularly the outdoor lounge area where we could all sit down to a dinner together that we prepared in our suites. The location was terrific, the staff as nice and helpful as could be. The tours we took were very well done with personable, knowledgeable guides. Mauna Kea...

“The suite in which we had a semi-private room had tile floor throughout so sound travelled very efficiently. If there had been others staying in the suite I probably would have used earplugs just in case others were up and about when I was sleeping, but they weren't necessary when it was only us. The bed was a bit soft, but in good condition.”
