Did the Mauna kea tour at arnotts lodge,David the guide could tell us a lot and it was amazing to be there at sunset! Also did the Volcano tour with Karen our guide ,she knew a lot and was very pleasant and kind.Would really recommend this one too! And if you stay at Arnotts lodge which is a very clean...

We loved Arnotts -- our only disappointment was we couldn't stay longer! We had only one night in Hilo amidst our travels on the Big Island but Arnott's was just what we were looking for--nice, clean, (relatively) low cost private sleeping space. The front desk staff was welcoming and courteous. My fiance and I chose a semi-private room so we...

Friendly and helpful staff. They took the time to show me around and explained the different accommodations available. It was convenient because I did not need to book in advance. I just showed up and they were happy to help. The place was clean and comfortable.

Great set-up, good location, friendly, helpful staff. Kitchen is set-up well and kept very clean. Only negative here was that the kitcehn doesn't "open" until 8 in the morning, so trying to make quick breakfast before heading out early is difficult. That said, a coffee vending machine with good coffee is available for early risers. Covered outdoor dining and lounge...

We booked 2 nights in the deluxe suite and it was such a wonderful experience. The suite was clean, big, and quiet. No complaints at all. We also went on the Mauna Kea tour which started at 230pm and lasted til around 9pm. Our tour guide Sean was extremely informative. The stargazing was awe inspiring. The hot cocoa at the...

When I first arrived I was pretty hesitant about this place. But once you stay for awhile it sort of grows on you. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Don't look for a TV in your room and defiantly no smoking allowed in your room. They have a smoking section outside and if you want to watch TV...

We found this to be a great place to stay. The price was very reasonable, everything was clean, the staff was very helpful, and quiet hours were honored. We would definitely stay here again. It is located in a quiet area where it is safe to walk, and is quite near to a beach frequented by turtles.

We were a group of 6 travellers who shared a 3 bedroom suite, with fully equiped kitchen and large bathroom. Service was friendlly and helpful. Everything was clean and well organized. Common outdoor lounge was inviting and comfortable. Had access to laundry facilities. No complaints whatsoever; we would stay here again and would definately recommend to everyone.

We were at the Lodge during Dec'2016.Though we planned for all the 3 tours with the Lodge, but unfortunately the weather ditched. We couldn't visit Mauna Kea becoz of heavy snowfall & we were quite disappointed. Luckily there was Ikaika, our tour guide for the other 2 tours (Volcanoes & Waterfalls). We will run short of words for this guy....

“We stayed in room #4; upstairs (No elevator) in the back. Loved the room.”

“The suite in which we had a semi-private room had tile floor throughout so sound travelled very efficiently. If there had been others staying in the suite I probably would have used earplugs just in case others were up and about when I was sleeping, but they weren't necessary when it was only us. The bed was a bit soft, but in good condition.”
