Puakea Ranch is such an idyllic setting and is one of my favorite memories of Hawaii. The ranch has goats, horses, dogs, and chickens; if an animal lover, this place is a dream come true. Our family stayed in Yoshi's house, which was beautifully decorated and had all the charm of an old house but with modern amenities. The house... More

I cannot express in words what a great Hawaiian experience you could have staying at the Puakea Ranch. Step back in time and experience a true Hawaiian vacation. My family of 5 had the privilege of staying at the Cowboy house. Kids had room to play and parents had room to breath, we loved it. The staff made each of... More

We didn't want to come home. We loved our stay here -- beautiful sunsets, comfortable house, lots of room for kids to roam and play. The owner was helpful in securing SUP rental and lessons for our stay, answering questions about the location, and would have arranged anything else we needed. My children loved having room to run and play,... More

My wife and I just finished our stay here as part of our 30th anniversary trip. All in all it was a very nice stay. We were in the James Cottage, which included a hot tub.The bed was very comfortable and the room was well decorated. It included a small refrigerator and toaster oven, as well as plenty of utincles.... More

My wife and I have been dreaming of going to Hawaii for years and there is no better place to go. We stayed in Cowboy house which was perfect for us and our 2 kids (age 2 & 4). The bedrooms were great, the garden out back was lovely, and the tree swing out front entertained us for hours each... More

Someday, when I am an old man, I will think back to my time at Puakea and wonder if it really happened. Words like "magical," "serene," and "blissful" get kicked around a lot in travel writing, but none of these words do justice to a place like this. Frankly, neither do pictures. You simply have to visit to understand. What... More

Believe everything you have read about Puakea Ranch. Indeed, it is exceptional. The ranch is unquestionably beautiful, serene, luxurious and just plain fun. But more importantly, there is an indescribable feeling you have while being there. Well, it can be described - HAPPINESS. After years of reading (and dreaming) about Puakea Ranch we took the plunge last summer and brought... More

Hi, We just returned home from our stay at "Miles Away". It was the most perfect place we have ever stayed. The ranch is so beautiful, and our bungalow, pool and bathhouse made us never want to leave. We made a real effort to go out exploring every day but after an hour or so we would look at each... Puakea Ranch is as much a vacation rental type of place as a hotel. It's a cluster of immaculately restored and decorated houses set in a remarkable location on the green northwestern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii. I stayed in Yoshi's Place, a former plantation house updated to include all the creature comforts of modern life (wifi, TV,... More
