This was my second stay at Elk Mountain while on route to visiting the Tetons and Yellowstone. This time I traveled with my 85 year old Mother and my wife. As with my last visit I found the hotel charming and well maintained. Each room has its own personality, story and unique features and decorations. Be sure to read the...

You certainly don't know what to expect when you decide to stay in a town with a population of 191. But as they say, good things exist small places. <g> The Elk Mountain Hotel is a lovely base from which to explore the many small towns in the area or check out fall colors. The rooms are beautifully decorated and...

Stayed here recently on a road trip through Wyoming and what a find. It really is a little gem, a beautiful Victorian building lovingly restored to offer exceptional style and comfort. Our room was stylishly decorated to reflect the period, lovely comfortable bed and spacious ensuite bathroom. We had a lovely dinner cooked by chef patron, Susan, and a delicious...

My husband and I stayed at the Elk Mountain Hotel the night before a Wyoming football game. We found it to be exceptional. Very clean, food was excellent, owners were very helpful and interesting to visit with and the grounds were beautiful and peaceful. The hotel is historic and has been very tastefully renovated with period furnishing. We would highly...

We stayed in the hotel and ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The decor was pleasant and the bed comfortable. The food was divine. The dinner (salmon in a pillow; pan-fried pork chops with sausage gravy) is on our list of top meals enjoyed around the world. It is worth the effort...

Fun historic hotel in which to stay. We enjoyed our time there, and our time at the museum in Encampment (that museum is definitely worth your visit). The food is hands down fantastic! The pricing is a bit steep we felt. The walls a bit thin, rooms a bit small... However the hotel was built in early 1900s so these...

Something cool. Something special. Off the beaten path. Susan and Arthur are lovely. Your needs are taken care of in a quiet, unobtrusive manner. Loved the history. Loved the quiet. Gorgeous hotel and super clean. Stayed one night but hope to be back. Fine memories made.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at this quiet, charming hotel in scenic Wyoming. We found the room and deck modern, clean and comfortable. Arthur and Susan were excellent host/hostess, as were the cat and dog. The food for every meal was outstanding; wine was superb, and service was timely. This was a great anniversary adventure; we will return...

Remote, clean + nice, excellent for relaxation. We will most likely try to plan a trip to this location specifically again, solely just to stay at the hotel for a few days, since we only stayed the one day this go around. Excellent food, and quiet. The owners are wonderful. No pets + children, but since we have neither, it...
