We had 2 nights in Lime Kiln in the Ancient House. It is a family room with an upstairs sitting room. Everything in the room was lovely and fresh milk was in the fridge each morning, along with ground coffee sachets for individual mugs of fresh coffee. The bathroom was lovely with separate bath and walk in shower. Nice big...

Very disappointed sitting here with our first Black shuck gin in a straight glass served with a lime no orange zest despite there being dedicated black shock glasses behind the counter poor show plus a white wine gin and tea set us back £18 or rather £17.75

Enjoyed our stay as a birthday treat. Impressed by the warm welcome, very comfortable room, modern bathroom and attention to detail in rooms and restaurant. Top quality service too. Room 6 has views to the coast, there is a residents drawing room for aperos or after dinner drinks. Busy (it was half term) but plenty of space, so a relaxed atmosphere....

We ate here last Sunday for lunch. For how much money it cost it was abit sad and disappointing. I think if somewhere gets their chips wrong then you are on to a loser - all of them looked like they were old and dry. I didn't even eat mine. Also on another occasion I took my friend for a...

We stayed here with our dog to have a relaxing weekend on the beach. It was just perfect, the room was lovely and clean. We regretted not booking an extra night! I was really impressed with the fact we could have the dogs with us at the bar and in the restaurant too as our dog was feeling very nervous,...

I came in today with three business clients hoping for coffees while we went through some brief paperwork. We eventually found a table (without any help from the staff) in the bar next to the restaurant but with only three seats. We asked the unsmiling waitress if we could borrow a seat from the restaurant table next to ours but...

Our 3rd visit - we enjoyed the stay of two nights (thurs / Friday) We stayed in room 1 - a lovely room - comfy bed and super bathroom. Lovely views, and really warm We ate in the hotel both nights - the menu doesn't appear to have changed much since last year - it needs to. We weren't checked...

I never heard of Holkham, I wanted to have a peaceful time in the countryside, my ex suggested me this place, to be honest I was a bit nervous as the weather was pretty cold, first impression was "cozy and warm" the room was neat, clean, and cozy, the bathroom is big and easy! The food is so good I...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, The Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham Estate. There are ten elegant, indivually designed and stylish bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. We are ready to welcome more guests in spring 2015 with the addition of a further ten bedrooms just across the road from The Victoria in one of the oldest buildings on the Holkham Estate: Ancient House. The building has been converted to provide ten additional bedrooms, including four spacious family room. The sympathetic refurbishment has retained many of the building's original features, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity. The bar and dining rooms at The Vic offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. We serve delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate, with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800's when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. ... more   less
