We stayed here for one night on the 16th March. We stayed in the ancient house in a twin room. This was a large double with a separate lounge upstairs. Room was very spacious with the most comfortable beds. This is the second hotel I have stayed in with comfortable beds and both hotels had put a mattress topper over...

Having stayed in the Hoste in Burnham Market a few times, the Victoria is a welcome break from over-popular Burnham market. The Victoria is a relaxed, informal place with very very spacious and delicious lux rooms. The location is perfect for some great walks too. The downsides - when we arrived on Saturday the place was packed and there was...

We visited to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful lunch, good service and lovely local food. Perfect location before going off to Christmas by Candlelight at Holkham Hall. Hopefully next time can get near the fire

Mid-week break to recharge from winter cold and overwork - previously stayed in main building but on this trip the "ancient house" situated across the drive. Stylish room with generous supply of drinks and snacks; luxurious en suite bathroom with quality toiletries and white fluffy towels. Took advantage of the BB and dinner rate and was pleasantly surprised to see...

Amazing location and easy to find! We came on recommendation from a close friend and we were not disappointed at all! The Victoria Inn is warm and welcoming, candlelit tables at lunchtime sitting when we arrived! The fires were lit and logged up and the bar was filled with dogs as expected. Our furry friends were in dog heaven! The...

Stayed here as my son got married here last July. We stayed in room 17, a very nice split level room which was an old bakery, still having an old bread oven as a feature in the wall, set in a separate part to the main hotel, called Ancient House. Bathroom had a bath and shower so, myself, I prefer...

Would we return? Certainly yes. The very good points? We stayed in The Ancient House and the room / suite was amazing. The location is fabulous and ideal for walks both to the nearby beach, nature reserve & the Holkham Estate complete with wikd deers. The staff were friendly & helpful, complimentary parking permit for nearby locations and full use...

This was our third stay at the Victoria, and as always it was wonderful. Staff all friendly and helpful, very clean despite dogs (well behaved) everywhere. (Not the place for you if you're not dog-friendly. This was our first time in one of the two attic rooms. Very spacious, fantastic bathroom with amazing separate shower. However the windows are very...

No atmosphere, strange setup of dining and bar area. Rude staff, one waiter abruptly said where are you going as we went to find somewhere to sit. Nearly all tables that didn't already have people sitting at were dirty. Poor drinks choice. Felt very silly for suggesting we came here.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at the gateway to Holkham and the National Nature Reserve, The Victoria is a classic English inn owned by the Coke family and managed by the Holkham Estate. There are ten elegant, indivually designed and stylish bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. We are ready to welcome more guests in spring 2015 with the addition of a further ten bedrooms just across the road from The Victoria in one of the oldest buildings on the Holkham Estate: Ancient House. The building has been converted to provide ten additional bedrooms, including four spacious family room. The sympathetic refurbishment has retained many of the building's original features, combining authentic charm with luxurious modernity. The bar and dining rooms at The Vic offer a relaxed blend of style and comfort. We serve delicious locally sourced food, much of it grown and raised on the estate, with a bold emphasis on freshness, simplicity and value. Holkham has been a leading agricultural estate since the 1800's when Thomas William Coke bought the site and the young Queen Victoria elevated him to the peerage in recognition of his contribution to farming in 1837. The name of the proposed new inn must have been inevitable when it opened its doors in 1838. ... more   less
