The cabin and grounds are extremely well maintained. You can tell that the people who work here really care about the north woods and care about the clientele. We ate at the Bear Den daily and received exceptional service. The food portions are incredible and the prices and service can't be beat. The resort is quiet and peaceful even though... More

Enjoyed our visit. Very quiet and peaceful visit to the northwoods. One of our favorite spots to get away and relax. The only downside is the Bear's Den (bar/restaurant). Years ago it was a great place for food and drink. Now it is messy and looks like no one at the resort really care about it. Based on the look... More

Suites were well supplied and clean. Scenery was gorgeous. Staff of Black Bear were helpful and friendly. Wouldn't recommend eating at the Bear Den or plan any kind of event that involves decorating, meal planning for a group. The Bear Den is a less than average bar with "some" very unfriendly staff

Beautiful surroundings, quiet solitude, less than average food, no on site grocery availability, very clean. Wolves killed a deer next to our guests cabin during the night. We were there for our daughters wedding and the resident activity planner was excellent.

We stayed in a deluxe lodge unit. The room had several, large windows which were very nice for early September weather. The unit had a nice large living space including a spacious patio, kitchen, and dining area. The property had a well-maintained path and roadway for walks - ideal for strollers and children. There was a nice play area for... More

Really cool place. Great staff and food. Our cabin was in need of some new beds and carpet, other than that it was fine. A little outdated, but thats the cabin experience. Will probably return when the new owners put in some improvements.

Thanks for the review. The new owner has done numerous improvements over the course of this year and has more planned. One of the improvements coming this year is new carpet and flooring. Other improvements we are planning to make in the future (this year or next) new furniture and new beds. Give us a call and we can tell... More

This was our second trip to the Black Bear Lodge. We had a great time again. It's always a blast hanging out in the Bear's Den Bar after a day of fishing. The owners Bob & Craig are great and so are the burgers!

By Todd Kaboskey, Aug 25,2014 We had a great family vacation at Black Bear Lodge, the cabin was clean and it was great to be able to walk straight out to the dock and our boat. The views were amazing, bald eagles, deer and loons. Good fishing, thanks to Ed, he was very helpful and friendly. See you next year!
