I live in the Birchwood, Wi area and have been to the lodge on many occasions. This past fall my wife and I visited the island for a special wine dinner. The wine and the food was absolutely great! It is a beautiful setting on a crystal clear northern Wisconsin lake. The lodge hosts many weddings through out the summer....

Wonderful relaxing a beautiful location. Attentive and helpful staff. Went in October and the autumn colors were lovely. Only way to get to the island lodge is by boat. Good Ice Age Trail hiking in the area. Canoes available on the island to use.

We learned about Stout's Island Lodge from the Wisconsin Public Television program "Remarkable Homes of Wisconsin" in March 2015.  We thought it would be a wonderful place to visit, made reservations about six months in advance, and stayed for three nights in mid-October 2016. After the first night, we went to the office and asked to make reservations for the...

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were looking for a place to stay for a nice quiet 4 day trip. We came across a write up on Stouts Island Lodge in the book: Wisconsin's Own: Twenty Remarkable Homes. We booked a room in the Douglas Cabin that looks out on Red Cedar Lake. The view was...

This was a nice resort with a good ambiance. The resort overall was very nice and the service was good. It is probably at its best during the summer for families. From my perspective it is a three or four star Wisconsin resort versus a five star luxury retreat. There is a short ferry trip to the island that runs...

Great food and drink with plenty to do but ample seclusion if that's what you're looking for. The staff is friendly and warm, making it feel more like camp than a luxury vacation. That comes out moreso in the high-end food selections available.

Very peaceful, upscale Adirondack lodge with spectacular lake views and fine dining. We were not prepared to like it so well! The gardens, the grounds, the views all will call us back in the near future.

We enjoyed relaxing here for a few days here in early September - no TV, little/no wifi, and couples only (no kids to be seen). Setting is lovely, lodge is historic (think National Parks era...similar to Bryce Canyon or El Tovar), staff is helpful. It is, however, quite rustic. We were happy to be staying in Shore Lodge - the...

Wonderful staff at this very original early 1900's Island Lodge. The history of the property is very interesting and there are plenty of activities to keep you active indoors and out. Rooms and buildings need a bit of TLC as the years have worn them down a bit. Enjoyed delicious dinners and beautiful views. Highly recommend the afternoon or evening...

I was excited for this small vacation as they are few and far between for us. I am sad to report that it was a waste of precious vacation time and money. I was disappointed from the start. The boat house where you check in is an example of what is to come. It is rundown, smelly, and the furniture...

Dear Amy P, Thank you for taking the time to provide us feedback about your stay with us. I am truly saddened that you were so thoroughly disappointed with your visit and our accommodations. If you will allow, I would like to address each of your points individually: The Shore House waiting area/on-shore waiting area: Admittedly, it needs some TLC...
