It's a 40s-50s style motel. Had the 'small room' and it was small, but it worked OK. Even had fridge and microwave jammed in. It's 3.6 miles north of most of town on the Pineville road. Bed OK. Slept fine. Clean. It's not a Super 8 or Hilton. If you want that stay in Bluefield. Piad $50 for the 'small...

We stayed at the Pocahontas Motel while visiting my mother's home town of Hemphill/Welch. While our room was basic and a bit dated, it was clean and the office staff was very nice. The room included a microwave, refrigerator and cable TV. For those not familiar with the area, you don't want to be driving in the mountains at night...

We stayed here for 1 night and was charged $85.00 for a room that wasn't worth $25.00 a night. It was suppose to be a smoke free room but it had the awful smell of cigarettes and alcohol. The room was outdated. There was not coffee in room nor the office area. The doors to office where closed the next...

We stayed here for our trip to go 4-wheeling at Hatfield and McCoy trails. This place is about what you would expect from a West Virginia motel and a place where a lot of muddy people stay. The Motel is right smack on a pretty busy 55 mph highway. Our room was ok. We had a king size bed, the...

“This is the heart of Appalachia. Don't expect high end anything. You won't be disappointed if you set your goals low. This is blue collar town. . Your choices for motels in Welch are limited and there likely isn't another town with motels in the county. They got a web site for the motel.”

“Stay in Bluefield or Princeton. If you are expecting a good night sleep don't go here.”
