I grew up not far from Pipestem State Park, and know the beauty and amenities of the park. I had never stayed at the park before and booked a cabin for a long weekend. It was a 2 bedroom cabin and we accepted a handicapped cabin unit due to availability. I expected it to be rustic, as I was familiar...

Be extremely careful if you reserve a cabin. I planned a family reunion at this resort, which requires full payment in advance for a minimum of 3 nights lodging for cabins. I developed an infection afeter surgery and the surgeon would not clear me to travel during the time of the reunion. I immediately called the resort, 2 and a...

We wanted to give our teenage boys a vacation away from the typical "go-go-go" trips we usually do. Pipestem fit the bill. We enjoyed the game room and pool. We had a super view of the valley from our room. One morning we watched a family of foxes playing just below our balcony. Hotel - Friendly staff - Nice game...

We arrived for a weekend stay and had a fairly good trip. This state park has the most activities to offer for the entire family. They are innovators in trying different things. One activity that they just implemented is a game called Footgolf. We loved it! The game is played on the par 3 golf course and is played with...

We've been to Pipestem many times over the years and have stayed in the main lodge on a couple of occasion. This time we stayed down in the gorge at Mountain Creek Lodge, which is accessible by ariel tram. I have to say that I was expecting the rooms to be dated, with more of a cabin feel and I...

Our family stayed in one of the "modern" cabins at the park. The cabins were nice. It was a relief to have AC. And the beds were FANTASTICALLY comfortable! We did not care for the living room furniture. It was neither comfortable nor inviting. We couldn't get into out cabin until 4 p.m. and when we arrived it was short...

Pipestem State Park is a great West Virginia State Park with many many activities. It is a great place for families. The lodge is very nice but pretty basic from the rooms perspective. But the food in the lodge is not very good at all. Personally I would avoid it. There is a barbecue restaurant just outside the main gate....

What a great place to relax and spend family time! My family enjoyed our 3 day stay here more than I could have imagined. I expected since there was so much fresh air and outdoor activity they may get bored. They didn't and can't wait to go back. We enjoyed paddle boating, fishing, skipping stones in the river after the...
